Woman stabbed to death in Greenwich flat: man arrested
A woman has been stabbed to death at her home in southeast London.
Police rushed to Trafalgar Road in Greenwich shortly before 10:30 pm on Wednesday.
Inside, they found the 29-year-old victim with knife injuries.
Despite paramedics and an air ambulance also being deployed, she was declared dead there soon after.
A 33-year-old man believed to be known to the victim has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.
He is currently in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Met Police say an autopsy has been carried out and they are waiting to formally name the woman.
Detective Inspector Mark Franklin said: ‘Our thoughts are with the victim’s family, who at this unimaginably difficult time are being supported by specialist officers.
‘We know this incident will cause great concern within the community.
‘While we are confident this is an isolated incident, residents will see an increased police presence in the area.
‘If you are concerned, please speak to one of those officers on patrol.’
