Two British tourists seriously injured in Ibiza hit-and-run crash
Two British holidaymakers have been rushed to intensive care after being run over in Ibiza.
The two women, aged 26 and 27, suffered traumatic brain injuries and broken bones in the horror incident.
One is in intensive care at the private Nuestra Senora del Rosario Polyclinic.
The other victim is at Ibiza’s main Can Misses state hospital.
The horror incident occurred around 2am this morning on the road that links Ibiza Town to San Antonio.
This area is known locally as Can Guillemo.
The 24-year-old driver of the Toyota Corolla that hit them is believed to have stopped and passed a drink-drive test.
However, it was not immediately clear this morning if he was also tested for drugs.
Commenting on the victims’ conditions, a spokesman for the Civil Guard said: "Both are British and both are serious.
"They were pedestrians who were run over by a 24-year Spaniard at the wheel of a Toyota Corolla. One is 26 and the other is 27.
"The incident happened at 1.50am on the El-600 road between Ibiza and San Antonio in the municipality of San Antonio."
Can Misses has not yet commented on the shocking incident.
But the private clinic where the younger of the two women was admitted just before 3.45am this morning has commented.
A spokesperson said: "She is currently in the Intensive Care Unit with head trauma, chest trauma and rib fractures, broken right tibia and fibula bones, a fracture of the left fibula, and multiple contusions."
Mum-of-three Ebony Cordingley, 26, and close friend and fellow mum Lauren Holmes, 27, suffered traumatic brain injuries and broken bones as a result of the crash.

Their families have now spoken about how their worlds have been "turned upside down" following the horror collision.
The pair were hit by a Toyota Corolla driven by a 24-year-old Spaniard just before 2am on Tuesday morning on the El-600 road between Ibiza and San Antonio.
Ebony, from Bradford, West Yorks, is in the private Nuestra Senora del Rosario Polyclinic.
Mum-of-two Lauren Holmes is in intensive care at Ibiza’s main Can Misses state hospital.
