TikTok star, 24, fatally shot in broad daylight while sitting in a car

TikTok star and model Gaxiola Orozco was killed when she was targeted by a gunman while sitting in her Mercedes Benz

A popular TikTok star and model has been shot dead outside a gym reportedly in a targeted attack.

Fedra Oded Gaxiola Orozco, 24, was shot in broad daylight while sitting in her black Mercedes Benz on Thursday. The popular social media star was parked outside of Hardcore Fitness Gym in the López Lucio neighbourhood of Tijuana, Mexico, when she was tragically killed.

The gunman targeted her car at 8.35am before shooting through the car window several times. The killer then ran and fled the scene.

Onlookers quickly called the emergency services and an ambulance arrived to take Orozco to hospital. Sadly, upon their arrival, the TikTok star could not be saved after being shot several times.

Witnesses at the scene told police that the shooter drove off in a Chevrolet HHR vehicle after shooting the TikTok star through her car window. They also claimed that there was more than one person involved in the heinous crime. A manhunt is now underway by police to find the killers.

Homicide unit prosecutor Miguel Ángel Gaxiola Rodríguez, has said the investigation points to a suspect who acted alone and targeted the woman. So far there have been no detainees, and the investigation is ongoing. 

TikTok star Orozco had over 200,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok and often collaborated with sportswear and aesthetic clothing brands. Her following was continuing to grow thanks to her on trend content before her tragic death.

It comes just months after another influencer and TikTok star was shot and killed alongside her boyfriend outside of a gym in Mexico.

Vielka Pulido was also killed in Mexico outside of a gym

TikToker Vielka Pulido was seen, along with her lover, getting out of a Hyundai car when an assailant in BMW suddenly pulled up and unloaded a stream of bullets at the pair, prompting people nearby to run for cover.

Vielka and the man, named locally as 41-year-old Joel Abraham Chavez, were killed. Horror CCTV footage shows the moment the influencer was assassinated along with her boyfriend outside the gym.

Reports indicate a total of 26 bullets were fired in the horrific drive-by shooting in the Santa Cruz Buenavista neighborhood of Puebla, Mexico’s fourth-largest city.

Further reports indicate Joel may have been the intended target and police are investigating that possibility. Vielka’s death was described as “collateral,” by officials. The Attorney General’s Office reported the investigation revealed the attack was directed at Joel.

“We are investigating this incident as a priority to try to resolve it as soon as possible and bring those responsible to justice,” a spokesman for state prosecutors in Puebla said.
