The wife of British billionaire Bob Bull was terrifyingly knocked unconscious by robbers before the keys to her £450,000 Rolls-Roye were stolen in a horror attack

Entrepreneur Bob Bull has had the support of his wife throughout his money woes - even after she was brutally beaten by thugs.

The father-of-two was named the UK’s 88th richest billionaire last year and was estimated to be worth nearly £2billion - but now, he has been forced to sell off his assets after claiming he was made bankrupt by a drug cartel. His luxurious £6million Hampshire home, which he lives in with Norwegian wife Sara Nilsen, is now on the market.

The couple say they have endured terrifying beatings, kidnap threats and fraud, with Sara once knocked unconscious in a bar before the keys to her £450,000 Rolls-Royce were stolen. Former Scotland Yard detectives compiled evidence on the ordeal, which was later handed to Hampshire Police.

They concluded that he had been a "victim of a conspiracy to defraud him, to destroy his £4billion caravan, bungalow and holiday parks business".

Bob, who made his money turning static caravans into bungalow villages, alleges the notorious drugs gang Kinahan Cartel, which has links to South American cartels, targeted him. He says he borrowed £3million out of desperation from a member of the organised crime group - but was told to pay £42million back.

He says he was frequently reminded of this in the form of intimidation and kidnap threats. Last November, he was on a night out in Cheshire with Sara when they were beaten in a bar. He told The Sun: "A guy come in and walked straight over. He said some things to her that you shouldn’t say about parts of his body and her mouth.

"She told him off. He hit her, she fell to the floor and was definitely unconscious for about 10 seconds. I attacked him and it was a mess." He said there was "blood everywhere" and Sara awoke to see Bob being brutally hit. He added: "When he left, he took my coat and car keys."

The document compiled by the detectives states: "This group is feared because of its use of extreme violence, including murder, against rivals. In Mr Bull’s case, they lost no time in using the menace of violence by the Irish cartel as a means of reinforcing unwarranted demands, as well as issuing their own threats of violence and kidnapping."

Bob built up his wealth after going bankrupt in 2016 - a time when he says he was "too poor to afford a KFC". He spent his fortune on a lavish home near Southampton, Hampshire, and several supercars which have now been repossessed as the billionaire is reportedly £725million in debt.

His multi-million-pound property on Botley Road in Curdridge has been put on the market and is listed as having six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a cinema room and a bowling alley. The Georgian-style property sits on 9.12 acres of gated grounds and includes a garage for six cars, as well as a pool with a steam room, spa and gym.

A description reads: "The property has been thoughtfully designed and offers a luxury and versatile home, suited for entertaining on a grand scale and family living alike. On entering you are aware that this is no ordinary home, the reception hall is vast with a central split flight staircase to the first and second floor."

Sharing how he has the support of his wife in his bankruptcy battle, Bob said: "These people have taken me to the limits of my life and my wife says ’I’m there for you’... If the judge who heard the bankruptcy knew I was the victim of criminality I think the bankruptcy would have been thrown out."

In December, court papers showed how Mr Bull hoped to enter an arrangement to pay off his debts at just 0.25 per cent. Mr Bull’s lawyer Ben Channer added: "It is not a great return to the creditors, but it is a return."
