Clapham triple stabbing leaves one dead and two injured in night of violence.

A triple stabbing incident in Clapham has left one dead and two in hospital after an early morning incident, emergency services have confirmed.

Paramedics were rushed to a scene in Wandsworth Road on the Clapham and Battersea border at 4am this morning (Sunday, September 29) following reports of an incident. One victim, a man in his 20s, has since been confirmed dead by London Ambulance Service while another was rushed to hospital as a priority.

The incident has since led to the closure of Wandsworth Road between Queenstown Road and Lambourn Road while emergency services attend the incident. Traffic between Clapham Junction and Clapham Old Town has been affected, including three London bus route diversions.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 4:07am today (Sunday, September 29) to reports of a stabbing incident in Wandsworth Road. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.

"Our crews treated three people at the scene. Sadly, despite the best effort of emergency services, one person died at the scene. One person was conveyed to a major trauma centre and another was conveyed to hospital." A cordon put in place at the scene remains up at this time.

A MET Police spokesperson speaking to The Mirror said: "Police were called at about 04:05hrs on Sunday, 29 September to reports of a large group fighting with knives in Wandsworth Road, SW8. Officers, London Ambulance Service and the London’s Air Ambulance attended. Three people were found at the scene suffering with stab wound injuries.

"Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, a man in his 20s [Victim 1], was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are working to inform his next of kin. Two other victims - both also aged in their 20s - have been taken to hospital for treatment. One [Victim 2] was treated for injuries that were not deemed to be life threatening and we await for an update on the other victim’s condition [Victim 3].

"A crime scene has been established and road closures are in place. At this early stage, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD 1169/29SEP. Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org."
