Family pays tribute to Courtney Mitchell, who was found seriously injured and later died in hospital

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found seriously injured at a property in Ipswich and later died in hospital.

Courtney Mitchell, 26, was discovered by Suffolk police at an address in Burrell Road shortly after 7pm on 6 August.

Logan Burnett, 27, from Ipswich, has been charged with murder and appeared before Ipswich magistrates court on Thursday. A postmortem revealed Mitchell died from stab wounds to the chest.

Mitchell, who had three children, was described by her family as “beautiful” with a “contagious smile” and they said her kindness had no limits.

They said: “No amount of words can comprehend what type of person Courtney was but we will try to share some of her light.

“Her contagious smile lit up any room and her laughter was the sweetest sound in our home. Her kindness had no limits, she was always there for everybody – family, friend or stranger.”

Burnett is due to appear before the crown court on 25 November.
