Tom Cruise mistakenly tried to get into Rishi Sunak’s car after landing at the London Heliport
Tom Cruise was spotted trying to get into the Prime Minister’s car after mistaking the flash Audi for his Mercedes.
The actor, 61, tried the handle of Rishi Sunak’s saloon after landing at the London Heliport in Battersea in a black chopper last Thursday.
Cruise, who cut a casual figure in blue jeans, a grey polo shirt and white trainers, quickly realised his mistake and was seen getting into the correct vehicle a few seconds later, in a video shared on X/Twitter.
He seemed unphased by the blunder as he smiled and waved to fans.
The Prime Minister is understood to have landed at the heliport a short time later after taking a 45-minute flight back to the city from Devon, following a campaign trip, which reportedly cost in the region of £2,500.
He looked considerably less relaxed than the film star as he jumped into the black car carrying a £750 backpack.
Just last month Cruise was spotted shooting scenes for the eighth instalment of the Mission: Impossible films near Sunak’s home on Downing Street in Westminster.
A few weeks earlier, the star stunned tourists as he sprinted through the capital covered in blood.
Most of the film has been shot at Surrey’s Longcross Studios.
He is reprising his role as Force agent Ethan Hunt for Dead Reckoning Part Two, which is set to be released in May 2025, after several setbacks delayed the release date.
The Sun approached spokespeople for Tom Cruise and the Prime Minister for comment.
