This the moment children hung on for their lives after a safety bar on a fairground ride came loose.

Video footage shows three youngsters, reportedly aged 12 and 13, being thrown around on the pendulum ride in Yeisk, Russia, as they try desperately to hold on.

The ride was stopped shortly after and a boy was treated for a broken rib, while two girls suffered abrasions and bruising.

‌A safety bar on the Lavitsa ride had become ‘detached while in motion, leaving the children suspended by their seat belts’, reported Mash media outlet.

‌The Russian Investigative Committee reportedly launched a criminal case into the provision of an unsafe ride by the fairground.

It is not clear when exactly the accident happened.

Meanwhile, dozens of riders were suspended 165ft above the ground on Russia’s only extreme rollercoaster yesterday due to a technical mishap.

‌The ‘inverted boomerang’ Quantum Leap attraction stopped due to ‘changing weather conditions’ in Sochi Park, near the city of Sochi.

They were hanging for ten minutes high on the ride’s vertical structure apparently due to the threat of high winds and thunderstorms.

‌’The attraction temporarily stopped operation due to a safety system activation in response to changing weather conditions,’ said a statement.

‌’Park staff handled the situation promptly and professionally, following established safety procedures.’
