The incident occurred during Molenbeek’s clash against Charleroi in Beligum’s Jupiler Pro League.

The midfielder was hit in the face by a ball from point-blank range.

The 26-year-old remained on the ground for 10 minutes while receiving treatment from medical staff.

Commentators were heard being concerned that he may have broken some teeth from the blow.

However, Molenbeek manager Yannick Ferrera revealed that there were fears that he may have had a brain haemorrhage.

He said post-match: "Jeff was unconscious for about ten minutes. We fear a brain haemorrhage."

Reine-Adelaide has posted a positive update on Instagram for his fans.

He wrote: "Thanks for your messages of support, more fear than evil."

The Frenchman spent two years as an Arsenal player between 2016 and 2018.

There was concern for the star from his former side, Lyon, for whom he played between 2019 and 2023.

The club posted: "Olympique Lyonnais is with you at this difficult time.

"We wish you a speedy recovery, courage and strength to you."

He never featured in the Premier League but did make eight appearances across the FA Cup and League Cup.
