Alexander Isak is the latest Premier League footballer to see his home targeted by thieves after his Newcastle teammate Joelinton also fell victim earlier this year

Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak has become the latest Premier League footballer to see his home targeted by burglars.

The Sun report that the Sweden international’s home was targeted 48 hours before featuring for Newcastle against Fulham on Saturday. Isak is the second Magpies star to be targeted after Joelinton saw his home raided in January.

Police were alerted to the break-in to the forward’s Northumberland home at 10pm on Thursday. It has been suggested the gang gained entry to the property via its rear patio doors earlier that evening.

It is unknown whether the 24-year-old or his family were at home during the incident. Police confirmed a car was stolen before later being found abandoned three miles away.

Reports suggest that a security van was at the house with dogs as the Sun suggest a neighbour said: “Police are still piecing it together, but he was broken into."

Northumbria Police said: “Enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact us.”
