Women's League Cup live updates from three games including Man City and West Ham

Three League Cup group games have taken place this evening with four WSL clubs involved in the action.

Man City ensured they finished top of Group B with a 1-0 win over WSL strugglers Leicester. The Foxes put in another improved performance but midfielder Flippa Angeldal struck a 90th minute winner.

In the other all-top flight clash, West Ham secured a place in the last eight after a 0-0 draw away at Brighton. The hosts won the penalty shootout 3-0 to claim two points from the tie, but it wasn't enough to make the quarter-finals.

Elsewhere in Group D, Bristol City edged out Championship rivals Lewes, with a hard fought 1-0 win. Jodie Hutton's corner flew straight in to give City the lead and despite seeing Grace Clinton sent-off late on they held out for a crucial win.

Bristol City's reward is a quarter-final clash with WSL title chasers Man City. Blackburn were set to take on Sunderland at Bamber Bridge but that game fell victim to the weather and was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Brighton win the shootout 3-0

It won't be enough to see them top Group C, but Brighton claim the bonus point with a 3-0 win in the penalty shootout!

Reaction from the Man City camp

Here is what Gareth Taylor had to say after he saw his team secure top spot in Group B.

FULL TIME: Brighton 0-0 West Ham

Brighton can't find that crucial goal and it ends 0-0.

We're heading to a penalty shootout but that won't stop West Ham topping Group C and qualifying for the last eight.

Will West Ham regret their missed chances?

As things stand they will be through to the knock-out stage anyway, but West Ham have missed some good opportunities in the second half.

Lauren Hemp's cross is touched in by Filippa Angeldahl. In the 91st minute they have surely won it.

Leicester 0-0 Man City

Still goalless but City are throwing everything at it, as we head into the final minutes.

Reaction from Bristol City's matchwinner

Back underway at Brighton

Can the hosts grab the win that will see them into the last eight?

Leicester 0-0 Man City

Still 0-0 but Gareth Taylor has made a triple change in a bid to win the game.

HALF-TIME: Brighton 0-0 West Ham

Goalless between Brighton and West Ham at the break.

Both sides have had chances, but with the two keepers in top form we're still awaiting the opening goal.

Who will break the deadlock?

As things stand Man City will top Group B and West Ham will be through from Group C.

A long way to go yet though.

Brighton 0-0 West Ham

Back underway at Leicester

Can Man City secure a fourth League Cup win of the season?

Bristol City progress to last eight!

Jodie Hutton's remarkable strike straight from a corner was the difference.

Lewes had numerous chances after the break but couldn't force penalties.

FULL TIME: Lewes 0-1 Bristol City

City hold on!

They win Group D and will play in the quarter-finals of the League Cup. Lewes are out - despite only losing one game and conceding twice in their three games.

Leicester 0-0 Man City

Steph Houghton is also back in action for the visitors.

Lewes 0-1 Bristol City

Into the dying seconds here. It looks like Lewes will miss out on the knock-out stages unless we have a dramatic finale...

HALF-TIME: Leicester 0-0 Man City

All square at the break but the hosts have created chances.

RED CARD: Lewes 0-1 Bristol City

Bristol City are down to ten players. Second yellow for Manchester United loanee Grace Clinton after a poor challenge.

A lifeline for Lewes?

Who is already through to the last eight?

Group A and E were completed before Christmas with Aston Villa and Tottenham, securing qualification.

Man City are already through and barring a heavy defeat tonight, will top Group B.

Those three will be joined by Arsenal and Chelsea, whose European participation, gives them a bye to the quarter-finals.

Brighton 0-0 West Ham

First chance for the hosts in our second all-WSL clash.

Lewes 0-1 Bristol City

And it was a big chance for Emily Craft who heads the free-kick just wide.

Still 1-0 to City at the moment.
