Cara Delevigne breaks silence on house fire with heartbreaking pet cat update
Cara Delevigne has broken her silence on news her home has been destroyed in Los Angeles, sharing a heartbreaking update about her pet cats.
The British model's sprawling £5.5million ($7million) mansion in California burnt to the ground in the early hours of Friday morning in the US, while she works in London. One person was inside the property and was treated for injuries as almost 100 firefighters worked to tackle the major blaze in Studio City, also leaving one crew member injured.
Engines were dispatched following a 911 call just before 4am PST and a total of 13 crews and 94 firefighters responded to the blaze thought to have begun in a backroom of Cara's giant mansion purchased back in 2019, it's not yet known how the fire started.

Taking to her Instagram tonight, Cara shared an update from England. "My heart is broken today. I cannot believe it. Life can change in a blink of an eye. So Cherish what you have," she wrote, attaching a picture of her beloved pet cats.

She later uploaded another picture of her cats, writing, "They are alive, thank you to the firefighters." Aerial images show the extent of the damage, showing her home gutted with a collapsed roof.
"There is no indication of an arson or criminal investigation right now," the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed, per Page Six, adding that there was "nothing to suggest that it was criminal activity" at the actress' home.
The person staying inside the supermodel's home was said to be treated for smoke inhalation, per TMZ. Cara purchased the 8,000-square-foot mega mansion for $7 million back in 2019, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Cara's in London after she landed her very first West End role as Sally Bowles in the hit musical, Cabaret. She's been performing at London's Playhouse Theatre since March 11. A photo previously showed her character in a green fur coat with her hair slicked back. The Suicide Squad star rocked purple smokey eye makeup with wispy eyelashes.

Cara appears alongside Olivier award-winning actor Luke Treadaway who is starring as the Emcee. Speaking about her exciting new role previously, Cara said: "There are no words to explain the excitement I have to return home to make my stage debut in such an iconic role. I cannot wait to be a part of this brilliant cast and production."
Her co-star Luke added: "I can't wait to become a member of the Kit Kat Club and join this extraordinary production. It's a huge thrill to be asked to take this on and I'm very excited to get started." Cara and Luke are taking over from Jake Shears and Rebecca Lucy who have played the roles since September 2023.
Cara started her acting career with a minor role in the 2012 film adaptation of Anna Karenina. She's also known for her role as Margo Roth Spiegelman in Paper Towns and the Enchantress in comic book movie Suicide Squad alongside Will Smith, Jared Leto and Margot Robbie. She starred alongside Selena Gomez in Only Murders in the Building and presented the documentary Planet Sex with Cara Delevingne.
Her latest roles were as Validation in Tell It Like A Woman (2022) and Ivy Ehrenreich in American Horror Story: Delicate (2023). Her character in her latest venture Caberet is a British flapper who is the headlining chanteuse at the seedy Kit Kat Klub in Germany during the twilight of the jazz age.
