Josie Gibson stuns Dermot O'Leary as she wins big cash prize at Cheltenham
Josie Gibson left her This Morning co-host Dermot O'Leary stunned on Friday as she revealed her "lovely little win" at Cheltenham Festival.
The presenter, 39, attended day three of Cheltenham Festival on Thursday, joining I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! campmate Sam Thompson at the star-studded event. Talking about the day out on Friday's This Morning, Josie revealed her £20 bet landed her a big win.
Josie said: "I was at Cheltenham yesterday, I had a lovely little win! Yeah, a £20 bet and I had a lovely little win..." The star added: "I always go to win [instead of an each-way bet] as I like a big win. So yeah, £20 won £650!" She added: "It's always a better day when you have a win!" Dermot was left amazed as he commented: "Wow, Gibson! I need to get a few little tips from you before today!"
So far this year the Cheltenham Festival has been hit with wet weather. The annual March festival sees the sport’s most prominent owners, trainers, jockeys and horses descend on Gloucestershire. Bad weather has descended on the racetrack over the past few days, yet clerk of the course at Cheltenham, Jon Pullin, delivered a positive update on Thursday morning. He said at the time: "We've been dry overnight so the ground currently is soft."
Other attendees on Thursday included former football manager Sir Alex Ferguson, 82, who was all smiles as he headed to the event. Former footballer and pundit Jamie Carragher, 46, was also spotted at the race course wearing a three-piece navy suit alongside his pals. Many racegoers donned green to mark St Patrick's Thursday at Cheltenham Festival and sipped on Guinness, as they hoped the luck of the Irish would be on their side for the big day.
Harry Cobden says winning Cheltenham ride on Il Ridoto did not deserve banIrish actor James Nesbitt wore a green tweed suit for the day, while Made In Chelsea's Georgia Toffolo donned a brown suede coat over a red skirt and matching red hat. Royals were in attendance again as Princess Anne arrived to the races in a long green coat, matching hat, black leather gloves and a black handbag and was prepared for bad weather with a large umbrella.
Zara and Mike Tindall made another appearance at Cheltenham Festival as they were joined by Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Mike and Zara wore matching grey outfits, while Beatrice and Edoardo wore similar shades of brown for the event.
