All we know about Holly Willoughby's thrilling new Netflix show with Bear Grylls
Holly Willoughby has been confirmed as host of an I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here-style show for Netflix, in which celebrities attempt to beat survival expert Bear Grylls - and fans are over the moon about her new venture.
The Netflix show, currently called Bear Hunt, will see Holly travel to the jungle of Central America. Due to air next year, it will mark the mum-of-three’s first foray out of mainstream TV and onto a streamer, following her departure from ITV’s This Morning at the end of last year.
The series will be hosted by Willoughby and is set to be filmed in Costa Rica. The “action-packed competition” will see a group of British celebrities dropped into the jungle as “prey for one of the world’s most fearsome predators – Bear Grylls”. Made by the survival expert’s own production company The Natural Studios, along with two co-producers, Grylls will set about testing their will to survive.
The celebrities who “fail to impress” will have to face the “bear hunt” of the title in which he hunts them down himself. If he succeeds in capturing them, they are eliminated. Holly is no stranger to jungle life, having stepped in for Ant McPartlin on I’m a Celebrity in 2018 after his drink-driving conviction and time in rehab.
Alongside Declan Donnelly, Holly proved a big hit with viewers with the biggest audience in five years tuning in for the series launch that year. At the time Donnelly quipped: “The more eagle-eyed viewers among you will have already noticed a big change to the show. Yes, one of the most gorgeous presenters on British television has been joined by Holly Willoughby.”

Holly remains a host on Dancing on Ice on ITV, but viewers have dwindled over the recent series with next year’s run - as Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean hang up their ice-skates - likely to be the last. Her new show with Bear will be something completely different for Holly, and after hearing the exciting career news, fans have shared their thoughts.
"Very excited for Holly and Bear's new Netflix show! It actually sounds so good," one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Holly Willoughby has had a tough year, so I'm really glad she's announced this show. I thought that would be the end of her career to be honest."
"Yay! Holly is baaaaaaaaack," someone else swooned. "Holly and Bear - the best combination and a combination we never knew we needed. Holly is defo in her survival era."
