Colson Smith is tipped to become the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 'by a mile' after he broke down in tears aftering being called boring during last night's episode.

Coronation Street star Colson broke down in tears in the Celebrity Big Brother diary room as he admitted comments Levi Roots made about him had hit a nerve after Wednesday night's chaos.

The bookies now have the Coronation Street star priced at just 7/4 to go all the way in this year's CBB house, making him clear favourite in the betting. Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Colson was favourite to win the series before any celeb entered the house, and once again he's the one to beat, with punters now clearly convinced he'll go all the way."

The soap star, 25, broke down in tears after a task took an unexpectedly vicious turn in the Celebrity Big Brother house. The housemates were gathered together to take part in a sour or sweet jelly bean challenge. The contestants had to pick out a jelly bean from a bowl and eat it - and reveal if the flavour was sweet or sour.

If they bit into a sweet jellybean, they then picked a nice question to ask a fellow housemate. But if they tasted that their bean was sour, then they had to ask a mean question to one of their fellow housemates.

Picking up a jellybean, 66-year-old Levi screwed up his face as he realised that the flavour was ‘chili pepper’ flavoured. He then picked out a brutal question which asked him to name the housemate that was most boring.

The businessman hesitated and then picked out Colson - but explained that he didn’t actually think he was boring, but thereby indirectly insulted him. The Reggae Reggae Sauce creator explained that if he had been asked “two days” earlier, he would have named Colson as the most boring housemate, but his opinion had changed after the soap star excelled in a singing contest.

The Corrie actor took offence to being called boring before he retired to the bathroom and broke down in tears. In the diary room, Colson expressed his feelings as he said: "Getting called boring has obviously kind of brought back a lot to me of the doubts that I've had in myself in previous times and hit a little bit.

"And here stuff is heightened so it feels more. I'm sure to everyone watching on the outside world it's nothing and I kind of look pathetic. But when you get called boring it kind of just hits you like a bus." With his voice cracking, Colson added: "I just didn't think it was going to be this hard."

After Colson broke down in tears, some viewers are now convinced that the Coronation Street actor will go on to win the show. One wrote: "Colson’ winners arc has started #CBBUK."
