Colson Smith's Corrie co-stars react as 'boring' claims leave actor in tears

Colson Smith's friends have responded to comments claiming he was "boring" on Celebrity Big Brother.

The Coronation Street actor, 25, was heard bursting into tears in the toilet after Levi Roots claimed he was once the most "boring" housemate. During a task, the businessman explained that he didn't believe Colson was actually boring but if he'd been asked two days earlier, he would have branded him the most boring.

Levi went on to make clear that he couldn’t name anyone as boring but reiterated that Colson would have been his choice. The Corrie actor took that information as an indication that Levi did in fact consider him boring and he retired to the bathroom and broke down in tears.

Later in the episode, Colson was seen in the Diary Room, sharing his thoughts about the earlier incident and revealed that he struggled with the comments. He told Big Brother: "Getting called boring has obviously kind of brought back a lot to me of the doubts that I've had in myself in previous times and hit a little bit. And here stuff is heightened so it feels more. I'm sure to everyone watching on the outside world it's nothing and I kind of look pathetic. But when you get called boring it kind of just hits you like a bus."

He added: "I just didn't think it was going to be this hard." Now, his Corrie co-stars Ben Price and Jack P Shepherd have appeared on Good Morning Britain and hit out at claims that their colleague and pal is "boring". When asked about whether he was, the pair, in unison responded: "No!" Before Ben added: "We're his mates, it's different in a house like that.

"Everything becomes a bit more heightened but he went off to have his little moment but it obviously got to him, definitely, if you saw a friend get upset, you know him so well." Jack added: "It's that place, they've been in there for over a week now and there's only a couple of rooms you can go to."

He went on to explain: "Bed, living room," as Ben said: "You cry because the washing up wasn't done or something like that, anything can set you off so he's just had a little tough moment." Viewers were devastated to see Colson in tears and took to social media to comment. One wrote on X: "I like Colson and I think he's allowed to have a little moment of insecurity in a pressure cooker environment like that house! #CBBUK."

Another typed: "Colson lovely! The best people are boring people! We don't have to prove ourselves to people because we are comfortable with who we are and what we like #CBBUK #CelebrityBigBrother."
