Glastonbury fans have been reacting to the release of the 2024 lineup where Dua Lipa, Sza and Coldplay will headline the Pyramid stage - and not everyone is impressed.

The trio will be joined at Worthy Farm by Shania Twain in the Legend's slot while LCD Soundsytem, Little Simz, Burna Boy, PJ Harvey, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Kiwanuka, Janelle Monae, Seventeen, Paul Heaton, Keane, Paloma Faith, Olivia Dean and Ayra Starr will also take to the famous stage across the five day event

A surprise name among the line-up is Avril Lavigne, bringing a 00s vibe to Worthy Farm. Other big names taking part include Disclosure, Anne-Marie, Camila Cabello, Jessie Ware, Jamie XX and London Grammar.

Glastonbury fans faced the longest wait for a headliner announcement in over 20 years, but with the festival finally confirming the big names heading to Worthy Farm, the 2024 lineup has received a very much mixed reaction.

Following the long-awaited lineup announcement, some festival-goers have said they regret buying tickets for the weekend. One fumed: "This is probably the worst Glastonbury lineup ever? Where is the variety? It's all pop singers. Dua Lipa headlining? Give me my money back."

"Dear oh dear. That don't impress me much," another joked following the news that Shania Twain will be taking to the stage at Worthy Farm this summer. Speaking on BBC Radio 2 this morning, Shania said finally getting to play Glastonbury is a dream come true.

"It's a beautiful feeling. It was never in my mind that I'd ever make it across the border from Canada to go anywhere. It's always been my dream. I'm actually going to Glastonbury," she gushed.

Someone else complained of the lineup: "That's a shocker of a line-up," and another agreed: "Thank God I didn't get tickets. I don't even feel like I'll be missing out on anything."

"Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA feels like a kick in the teeth after last year’s headliners. C**p really. LCD Soundsystem is good though," another shared. "This may be the worst line up the festival has ever had," another echoed.

Another social media user fumed: "This feels like a Gen Z lineup. What about all the festival-goers who have supported the festival for years and years? There's nothing for us. I feel like selling my tickets now." As someone else argued: "I do love Dua and Coldplay, so I'm happy but it all just feels a bit meh. I understand why people are angry tbh."

However, it wasn't all bad as some fans were delighted to see the likes of Dua and SZA headlining. "This will be the biggest moment of Dua's career. Fair play to her, she's incredible."

"Why is everyone being so negative???? Dua Lipa and Coldplay are two of the best-selling singers/bands in the UK. Personally, I'm so excited," another argued.

Last year's line-up received a much better reaction and rave reviews after Arctic Monkeys closed the Pyramid Stage – their third time topping the bill. Lizzo played immediately before and has joint headline billing on the line-up poster and Sir Elton’s headline slot on Sunday night marked his final UK show of his farewell tour. Saturday night also saw US rockers Guns N’ Roses headline, after the original line-up of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan reunited in 2015.
