The nation will pick the most memorable TV moment of 2023.

Viewers can select from a shortlist of six that has been whittled down by a panel of 12 TV experts including myself and Love Island favourite Amy Hart. The winner, announced at the star-studded ceremony on May 12, will receive a BAFTA, and, as tradition, it will be the only honour of the night to be decided entirely by the voting public.

The panel of around 12 also included Love Island favourite Amy Hart, a passionate lover of television and ambassador for this year’s awards sponsor, P&O Cruises. The water-cooler moments span a range of channels, genres and budgets and below, we describe why each deserves its place.

Amy said: “I am super proud to be part of this year’s Memorable Moment jury. As a kid growing up in a small town, I was obsessed with TV; and how it can inspire, delight, shock, entertain, educate and change people’s lives. Last year did not disappoint in the memorable moment department, and we have our brilliant shortlist. For me personally, being involved as a member of the jury is one of my life’s memorable moments.”

Bafta TV chair and UKTV commissioning boss Hilary Rosen said: “We are so looking forward to seeing the conversations it sparks amongst viewers at home, and who they will award on the night.”

The sub-plot of Bill and Frank - The Last Of Us (Sky Atlantic)

This standalone episode of the video game turned drama centres on side characters Bill and Frank and their life in the post-apocalyptic world.
