Ekin-Su's fortune to soar with staggering fee from Celebrity Big Brother stint

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has fast become a fan favourite in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

The Love Island 2022 winner, 29, hasn't shied away from grilling her fellow famous housemates including Gary Goldsmith and Louis Walsh. Ekin-Su has even branded 'the voice of the nation' as she unapologetically asked Gary where his niece Kate Middleton has been as she continues to remain out of the limelight.

Regardless of how long Ekin remains in the Celebrity Big Brother house, her appearance on the iconic ITV reality TV show will boost her career significantly according to a PR expert - and Ekin is set to make a huge fortune from her time on the show.

Speaking to The Mirror, Stacey Wong, a PR expert from digital marketing agency, Own Your Space, has shared her insights into what this move could mean for Ekin-Su's career and public image.

"Celebrity Big Brother contestants often negotiate fees for their participation in the show, which is influenced by their celebrity status," explains Wong. "Their fee can vary based on recent personal developments or connections with high-profile individuals, which could increase viewer interest and show ratings. As of now, the exact payment for Celebrity Big Brother 2024 participants remains undisclosed.”

“Traditionally, unlike the normal version of Big Brother, where contestants receive a nominal weekly amount, celebrity participants do not win prize money; instead, a donation is made to a charity of the winner’s choice. Nonetheless, their participation is financially rewarding.”

"Since her victory on Love Island, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has not only mastered the art of personal branding but has also seen a significant increase in her Instagram following," observes Wong.

"With an impressive 3.5 million followers as of February 2024, up from 3.2 million in December 2023 and 3.3 million in January 2024. Additionally, her posts have an average of 71.6k likes, reflecting a robust engagement rate of 2.02%. These statistics underscore the impact of her brand collaborations, which can contribute to an average earning of around £11,000 per week, as highlighted by the first trading figures from her company, ESC Risley.

"Despite this data, we have found that her social media analytics reveal that: 84.51% of her audience consists of mass followers, bots, or fake accounts. This breakdown shows that only 13.32% of her followers are real people, with a mere 0.49% being influencers. Additionally, her following comprises 1.68% mass followers, 40.01% suspicious mass followers, and 44.5% categorised as bots and fakes. This data will 100% impact her predicted earnings.”

"In terms of earnings post-Love Island, Ekin-Su has remarkably accumulated half a million pounds within a year after sharing the £50,000 prize," Wong continues. "She has managed to secure six-figure deals with prominent brands such as Oh Polly and B Perfect. However, she shortly got dropped by Oh Polly. Ekin-Su has recently broadened her horizons beyond the UK," Wong adds. "Following her participation in the US version of The Traitors, aired in January 2024, she has broken into the American entertainment scene, which will increase her global appeal and strategic approach to personal branding.”

The expert continues: "Several celebrities have secured significant earnings for their time in the Celebrity Big Brother house," Stacey Wong points out. "Notably, Ray J's appearance in 2017 fetched between £800K to £1M, making him one of the highest-paid participants.

Similarly, David Guest commanded a £600K fee in 2016. The duo Speidi, consisting of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, was compensated £570K for their 2017 stint, while Jedward netted £500K the same year.

"Additionally, Katie Price received £400K in 2015, and Gemma Collins was paid £100K in 2016. These figures highlight the lucrative potential for celebrities participating in the show, reflecting their market value and appeal to the audience."
