Aldi shoppers can relax, your favourite beverage isn't being axed.

The budget retailer has recently panicked customers who have been scrambling to find a cult-favourite product. Some shoppers say the item has been missing from shelves for more than two weeks now, as social media users worry the supermarket has 'done away' with the fizzy drink.

We are, of course, talking about the iconic Vive Professor Peppy. The beloved Dr Pepper dupe mimics the same botanical taste we all know and love - but at a fraction of the price. In fact, a two-litre bottle of Professor Peppy from Aldi will only set you back 55p, compared to £2.05 for the same size bottle of Dr Pepper at Sainsbury's, and £2.25 at Iceland.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) - shoppers expressed their frustration after being unable to find the drink. "Is Professor Peppy gone? My local Aldi hasn't had it for two weeks now," one user wrote.

Another asked: "Aldi, have you done away with Professor Peppy?" While a third added: "My husband, his brother, and I have been searching so many Aldi's in Kent for this amazing drink but it hasn't been in stock for weeks. We need our fix but nowhere seems to have any. Is there a shortage going on?"

The Mirror contacted Aldi to check whether the drink had truly been axed for good. Thankfully, they didn't say yes. This is beacuase Professor Peppy is a seasonal product and it is due to return to stores soon.

Aldi is no stranger to delicious dupes, and Easter is no exception. As shoppers fume about the increased price of Cadbury's iconic Mini Eggs - the retailer has debuted a version of its own. The ALDI Mini Chocolate Eggs come in 80g packs (the same as Cadbury) but are 51p cheaper - priced at 99p. XL versions of the chocolates are also on the shelves, costing £1.11 per 100g, compared to Cadbury's price point of £1.88 per 100g.

Plus, they have gone down a treat with shoppers."[I] love Aldi chocolate in general! Their mini eggs are so much nicer than the Cadbury ones now the chocolate is just horrific in them," one person wrote on X. Another commented: "In other news... Aldi have their mini eggs in stock. Prefer them to the real ones." While a third added: "I bloody love mini eggs. Even the Aldi ones are [good]."
