One lucky person has claimed the massive 'Set For Life' prize from the National Lottery which will see them receive £10,000 a month for 30 years.

The single ticket-holder won in the draw on 29 February and has now got in touch with the National Lottery to claim their prize. Like with all major prizes, the winner will have to go through a process which includes an appointment with the National Lottery's Winners Advisers.

Subject to validation, the winner's prize will be paid at this appointment. It will the be up to the winner as to whether they will go public with their win and share their news, or they may decide to stay anonymous. No information about whether the winner is an individual or syndicate winner can be shared yet. And possible identifying information such as where the ticket was bought must also be kept under wraps unless the prize winner gives their permission for this to go public.

Senior winners' advisor at the National Lottery, Andy Carter said: “We are delighted that this fantastic Set For Life top prize has been claimed - the third very lucky top prize winner in February. They now join the lucky winners from the draws on 1 and 22 February - what great wins for all three of these lucky ticket-holders. Imagine the possibilities for them every month for the next 30 years! Our focus is now on supporting this latest lucky ticket-holder through the process and helping them start to enjoy their truly life-changing win."

By playing National Lottery games, people generate £30 million a week for Lottery-funded projects, helping to fund important projects across the country. This fund has awarded over 685,000 grants in total which support both large and smaller projects, and over £48 billion has been raised.

Claims for big National Lottery prizes like Set for Life must go through a validation process, which includes checks to ensure the Game Rules Terms and Conditions are adhered to and the National Lottery's integrity is protected.

News of the massive Set for Life win comes as a retired taxi driver has rece ntly made a major motoring purchase after winning £1million on lottery and vowing to hit the open road. Steve Glover swapped Devon for the Highlands of Scotland after his win in March last year, buying a property 20 miles south of John O’Groats, in a region that he first fell in love with when he was based at RAF Leuchars. And now he has a Bentley car to take a spin around the countryside.

The 73-year-old said: "I was driving for the RAF Go-Kart race team during my time at Leuchars, you could say that the RAF gave me my two great loves in life, Scotland and a fascination for just about anything with an engine. And while the RAF gave me a go-kart, the Lotto win has given me a veritable fleet of vehicles, I think my current favourite is my old classic, a Bentley R Turbo."
