Bride urged to divorce husband who wore Crocs to wedding - but some defend him
Imagine saying 'I do' to a man wearing a pair of Crocs on your big day (in sports mode, of course).
It's safe to say etiquette around wedding attire has evolved in recent years, as more people stray from tradition and add a bit of personality into their outfits. Perhaps you want to walk down the aisle in a black dress instead of white or tell your bridesmaids to don jumpsuits instead of dresses.
At the end of the day, it's your decision what to wear when tying the knot, even if others may disapprove. One groom has completely thrown the rule book out after ditching a pair of boring brogues for the infamous Crocs - and it's quickly divided the internet.
The footwear brand has witnessed a resurgence in popularity over recent years - but the comfy sliders are still somewhat controversial (they're the Marmite of the fashion world). But taking to Reddit, one user posted a picture of two newlyweds with the caption: "Imagine you get ready for three hours and your groom shows up in Crocs."
At the time of writing, almost 2,000 users have taken to the comments section to share their thoughts - with many branding the shoes as 'freaking ugly'. "I hope it's an inside joke between the two of them and she's also wearing Crocs," one user wrote.

Another agreed, commenting: "Yeah based on the fact that he's still wearing a nice suit and has obviously had his hair done for this I doubt this is unintentional or not humorous." While a third added: "Divorce him."

Many users defended the wardrobe choice, arguing he may have a foot injury or on issue with his feet that prevents him from wearing 'proper footwear'. "Surely no-one, no matter how casual in style, voluntarily leaves the house in Crocs?" asked one person.
Another note: "Other than the Crocs he's dressed sharp. Best guess [is] he has foot issues. They also look brand new. Or, he’s the largest stock holder of crocs." While a third wrote: "The older I get the more hostile I become to discomfort. At this point I'm thrilled to see someone in Crocs at their wedding. I wish more people had the confidence to choose function and comfort over attractiveness and social norms."
