Leonardo DiCaprio's chaotic dating history – Gisele Bundchen to teen Eden PolanBut fans were left baffled when the Godfather actor announced the winner in such a half-hearted fashion that no-one was actually sure who had won. Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan, had actually scooped the Best Picture award at the 96th annual Academy Awards. However, Al Pacino's odd introduction of the winner left fans puzzled.
During the awkward on-stage moment, he said: "Best Picture...uh, I have to go to the envelope for that. And I will. Here it comes. And my eyes see Oppenheimer?" Queue the Oppenheimer team looking puzzled in the audience. still, film producer Emma Thomas and director Nolan went on stage to accept the award and gave their speech.
Naked attraction - John makes a Cena on Oscars night
John Cena certainly made a fashion statement when he announced the nominees for Best Costume... while naked.
The wrestler-turned-actor nervously came out onto the stage with an envelope covering his modesty. The star hesitantly came on stage as part of a bit in reference to an actual streaker at the 1974 award show.
Jimmy Kimmel, who was hosting the Oscars, recounted the Hollywood history moment before insinuating that someone was supposed to appear on the stage. A nervous John Cena peeked his head around from the curtain backstage, telling Jimmy that he wasn't sure about continuing with the plan.
By the time the cameras popped back on, Jimmy was ready for John to go full steam ahead. john came out and praised costume designs in his own very outrageous way.
Fans loved the skit and flocked to social media to comment. One said: "Naked John Cena bit might be the greatest Oscar bit of all time," wrote one fan. Another added: "That was rather funny! I think I woke my neighbors screaming like I did, but I loved it!"
Ryan Gosling's banter with Emily Blunt
The gloves were off as Ryan Gosling took a brutal swipe at Barbie rivals Oppenheimer as he presented an Oscar Award alongside Emily Blunt.
The pair, whose rival movies went up against each other in several categories on the night, took aim at each other with Ryan blasting Oppenheimer for riding on "Barbie's coattails".
As the pair paid tribute to all the stunt performers in cinema history, Ryan jibed: "I figured out why they call it ‘Barbenheimer’ and they didn’t call it ‘Oppenbarbie.’ I think you guys are the tail end of that cause you were riding Barbie’s coattails all summer."

All eyes were on Jimmy Kimmel as he opened up the Oscars, so no doubt he wanted to make an impression. But one particular joke backfired and left fans reeling during the chat show host's opening monologue.
His jokes ranged from taking a swipe at Donald Trump, to slamming the Academy for not nominating Greta Gerwig for Best Director for her film Barbie. Yet it was his joke about Robert Downey Jr. apparently awkwardly-shaped appendage that left fans cringing.
Jimmy said: "Look at him, he’s so handsome, so talented, he’s won every award there is to win. Is that an acceptance speech in your pocket or do you just have a very rectangular penis?" When the cameras panned to Robert, he didn't look best pleased either.
Emma Stone wardrobe malfunction
She scooped Best Actress on the night, but spare a thought for Emma Stone, who unfortunately did not do too well in the best dressed category. Emma, who first won an Oscar for her role in La La Land in 2017, told the star-studded crowd not to look at the back of her dress as she delivered her acceptance speech.
The mother-of-one had ripped her stunning white peplum gown. She said: "My dress is broken, I think it happened during I’m Just Ken," where the actress was seen partying away to Ryan Gosling's performance.
Slash on stage
Oscars fans did a double-take when they saw a new super-group form in front of their eyes.
They couldn't believe it when rock legend slash joined Mark Ronson, who wrote I'm Just Ken, joined Ryan Gosling on stage to perform his hit from the Barbie movie.
Ryan was dressed in a pink sparkly suit as he took the stage, bathed in pink light as he sang the beloved song. One fan of the actor wrote: "THE PINK SUIT RYAN CAME TO SERVE."
The star brought out Slash to perform the hit song, leaving fans gobsmacked. "Did I just see Slash performing #ImJustKen at the #Oscars with Ryan Gosling?" one fan wrote. Another added: "The Ryan Gosling x Slash collab I didn't know I needed."
Another noted the star's singing prowess, writing: "Someone give Ryan Gosling a record deal NOW." He also gave the microphone to Greta Gerwig, Margot Robbie, and Emma Stone to sing a bit of the song.
