Hailey Bieber mocked by Jimmy Kimmel as he takes aim at 'nepo babies'

Hailey Bieber was teased by Jimmy Kimmel during his Oscars monologue.

"Heavily botoxed, Hailey Bieber smoothie drinking, diabetes prescription abusing, gluten sensitive nepo babies with perpetually shivering chihuahuas…," he ranted, hitting out a stereotype in the entertainment industry. Hailey is known for having a family legacy in Hollywood which makes her an official "nepo baby".

The term is short for nepotism baby, meaning someone who was born it to success, wealth, and with an advantage rather than making it on their own. In this case, Hailey is the daughter of famed actor Stephen Baldwin. Additionally, Jimmy wasn't wrong about the smoothie... there is one named after her at a grocery store called Erewhon.

Jimmy was immediately hit with backlash, with viewers calling him a 'misogynist' and 'loser.' "What’s with men making women the butt of jokes in their monologues at award shows recently? And it’s never really funny," wrote one fan. They were referencing the pattern of award show hosts making jokes about female-centric media like Barbie or powerful female stars like Taylor Swift. Jo Koy notably got major backlash after the Golden Globes.

Another added: "You see this is the issue men find themselves truly comfortable with talking about a woman’s body, face and everything but when a woman puts her foot down 'she’s doing to much.'"

One fan dreamt up the perfect response for the model. "Hailey Bieber should come to the Oscar after party with a Hailey Bieber smoothie and pose very well for the camera," they said. "She won't do it, but I wish she would."

She often receives backlash for her nepo status

Some fans defended Jimmy with one writing: "Y'all are incredibly stupid, this was NOT a dig to Hailey Bieber at all. Sure it probably was worded terribly and some of you need to go back to school to comprehend what he said. He is extremely unfunny though and I just know why I prefer the other Jimmy."

Another argued that Hailey deserved the jokes, saying: "Anybody getting mad at this joke and calling him a misogynist must’ve forgotten that Hailey Bieber has been called out for bullying other women MULTIPLE times. just know we didn’t forget that she shaded Taylor Swift unprovoked and bullied a girl in school!"
