Jonathan Ross wows ITV viewers with his matching outfit to Oscar winner

ITV viewers were left stunned to see host Jonathan Ross in the same outfit as an Oscar winner.

The presenter hosted a special show for UK film fans on Sunday night as he gave live commentary on the Academy Awards from across the pond. However, many viewers were left distracted when French film director, screenwriter, and editor Justine Triet rocked up in the same look as Jonathan.

Justine and her writing partner Arthur Harari won the Oscar for best original screenplay for Anatomy of a Fall. It was the first non-English language film to win the category since Parasite in 2019. The director took to the stage where she admitted she hoped the win would "help me through my mid-life crisis". She reflected on the glamour of the award show to her time making the film.

Justine said: "Stuck in the house during lockdown with two kids hooked up to cartoons for peace. There is no line between work and diapers." As she accepted the award, Justine rocked a black two-piece suit with diamond pinstripes just like the one Jonathan was wearing back in the studio in London.

Viewers notice the matching outfits as one said: "OMG Justine Triet and Jonathan Ross are twinning in their 'diamond' suits! #SuitUp #Oscars." Another added: "Justine Triet there, wearing the same suit as Jonathan Ross (@wossy) #Oscars." Someone else commented: "anyone on the ITV stream noticing that jonathan ross and justine triet have the same suit on?" A fourth wrote: "why justine triet wearing the same suit as jonathan ross …."

Jonathan faced harsh backlash from viewers over his coverage as another viewer said: "The ITV Oscars coverage was abysmal, but i did enjoy Jonathan Ross & Justine Triet sharing outfits." The Masked Singer judge was joined by a panel including actor Richard Armitage, comedian Ben Bailey Smith, actress Fay Ripley and TV presenter Yinka Bokinni.

Many viewers were unimpressed with the coverage as one said: "I want to watch the Oscars from Hollywood. Why am I watching Jonathan Ross and some other people in a studio in London?" Another added: "I’d rather sit and watch adverts than this utterly embarrassing jonathan ross session." Some adverts played during the show, as a viewer wrote: "I am glad that ITV are putting adverts instead of Jonathan Ross and the guests. I think they saw people complaining about it and decided adverts were a better option."

A fourth quipped: "The jonathan ross coverage is painful." Someone else commented: "I'm not sure why ITV have decided we needed Jonathan Ross reviewing the jokes in the show..." However, some didn't agree as one said: "Jonathan Ross is good introducing the #Oscars." Another said: "I'm watching the #Oscars #Oscars2024 live on #ITV. The highlights have #JonathanRoss talking with studio guests. Hosted by #JimmyKimmel in #Hollywood."
