Detectives hunting a missing young man who hasn't been seen in over a week have released CCTV of a distant figure they believe could be him.

Jack, whose last name has not been disclosed, was reported missing after he disappeared in Bristol last weekend. Footage of a figure walking near to the River Avon has now been released as police continue to appeal for the 22-year-old's whereabouts.

Jack was last seen at around 3.15pm on Saturday, March 2, around the area of Brunel Lock Road in the city. A possible sighting, shown on CCTV, was made later at 5.40pm the same day.

Police said that a number of cars were driving nearby at the time, and detectives have appealed to anyone driving or just generally in the area at the time.

Det Insp Jason Chidgey, of Avon & Somerset Police, said: “We have been continuing our search to trace missing man Jack, and keeping Jack’s family updated with our enquiries. We have dedicated hours of time in conducting foot patrols, CCTV trawls, extensive searches by the police dive team of the River Avon.

“We are now appealing for the public’s help to help us identify if the individual in the CCTV is Jack as we continue to trace his movements. Even if you don’t remember seeing anyone, check your dashcam footage, if you have it, as that may have picked something up.”

Jack is described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build with short, brown hair. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a quilted green/brown Barbour jacket over a beige woollen jumper, navy chinos and brown leather trainers with white soles.

The force has urged anyone in the are or who has information on Jack's whereabouts to urgently call them on 999 and give the reference 5224055172, or ring 101 with any other information.
