Dancing On Ice fans say 'real winner' is 'robbed' after big final twist
Dancing On Ice aired its highly-anticipated final on Sunday night, where Ryan Thomas and Amani Fancy were crowned the 2024 winners.
Taking to the ice on Sunday night were finalists Ryan, 39, Adele Roberts and Miles Nazaire with Ryan later crowned the winner alongside their professional skating partner Amani. Greg Rutherford had been due to perform in the final but he was sadly forced to pull out due to a "significant injury" just hours before the show on Sunday.
For the final, judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse offered their feedback as the celebrities performed for the last time after a gripping 16th series. The show, presented by Stephen Mulhern and Holly Willoughby, saw Ryan, Adele, 45, and Miles, 28, take to the ice for one last time.
After the first routines, it was revealed that Ryan and Miles had got through to the next round with Adele finishing in third place. Viewers were left gutted over Adele finishing in third place and argued that the contestant had been "robbed" from the final two, especially after Miles had suffered an unfortunate fall during his earlier routine.
Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "ADELE ROBBED #DancingOnIce", another wrote: "ADELE AND MARK WERE ROBBED THEY SHOULD BE SKATING BOLERO #DancingOnIce", a different account put: "Oh Adele has been robbed, she’s been on of the strongest skaters from the beginning #DancingOnIce", another said: "Adele was robbed #DancingOnIce" while a different fan added: "Adele was robbed. MILES FELL OVER! What is this?!?! #DancingOnIce."

Listen, Greg, if you're watching this at home... this trophy is for you, mate!" before thanking the public at home for voting for him.
Taking to Twitter, now X, other viewers were left delighted over Ryan's win and sweet gesture to Greg. One person said: "Yessss Ryan & Amani. So deserved #DancingOnIce", another wrote: "Well done Ryan Thomas!!! #DancingOnIce", a different account put: "Well done Ryan and Amani #DancingOnIce" while another added: "Ryan and Amani incredible and class tribute to Greg at the end there #DancingOnIce."
In sad news, just hours before the final, it was announced that Greg, 37, had pulled out of the show due to a "significant injury". The sports star was due to perform with professional skating partner Vanessa James in a bid to be crowned the 2024 champion, competing against Ryan, Adele and Miles.
However, just hours before the final on Sunday, Greg's professional skating partner Vanessa, 36, posted a photo on Instagram, announcing they were on the way to the hospital after Greg was injured during rehearsals. Vanessa penned: "Unfortunately Greg has sustained a significant injury this morning at rehearsals and won’t be able to perform tonight. We are on our way to the hospital for Greg to get examined further and receive the treatment he needs."
Greg's exit was also addressed on the show with presenters Holly and Stephen sending their well-wishes. Holly, 43, said: "You may have noticed that Greg and Vanessa weren't part of our opening. Unfortunately, Greg injured himself in rehearsals earlier today. We're all completely gutted. Sadly, he cannot continue in the competition."
