Liam Gallagher claps back at Jonathan Ross as TV host makes awkward Noel dig

Jonathan Ross asked Liam if he and Noel always gelled.

Liam Gallagher clapped back at Jonathan Ross after the TV host quizzed him on his relationship with brother Noel during an appearance on his talk show.

Liam and Noel were one of the many celebrity guests who appeared on the Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday, March 9. The pair joined the sofa to chat to the 63-year-old The Masked Singer judge - alongside the likes of Netflix star Millie Bobby Brown and Brit Award winner RAYE - about their brand new album Liam Gallagher John Squire.

The famous brother helmed the iconic rock band Oasis, which they formed back in 1991, in Manchester. The pair reportedly grew estranged after Noel quit the band in 2009, and taking the opportunity to quiz them on their bond outside of their music careers, Jonathan asked Liam, 51, if he had always gelled with brother Noel, 56.

When he asked if it always gelled, Liam quipped back: "What do you mean? This is where you're gonna have a pop now aren't you?" Taken aback, Jonathan responded: "No! No. Relax I'm not your brother alright?" The audience erupted into laughter and clapped, though Liam appeared less than impressed.

But things soon took a worse turn after Rob Beckett was talking about how uncomfortable it was working with his brother. He turned to Liam and said he could understand why he didn't want to work with his sibling.

It was then Jonathan Ross took the opportunity to speak on the topic and said he wasn't planning to bring it up, but as Rob had, he quizzed him on some fresh rumours. Recent claims suggested that the pair were in touch again, but Liam immediately shut it down.

He said: "I haven't spoken to him for about 10 years, 2009 I think." The audience then let out an "aww", but Liam fumed: "Don't start that." Jonathan added: "I think because people don't understand what went on or what goes on they feel like maybe you're missing out." But he immediately quipped back with: "I'm having a great time."

The former Oasis frontman has previously worked with the likes of Stone Roses guitarist, John Squire. The pair first met while they were working on albums with their old bands in Monmouth, near Cardiff. And Liam asked John about his shoes, which he was enamoured with in the picture of the Stone Roses album.

Liam told a magazine: "I remember watching the video for the Roses’ Fool's Gold and thinking, ‘Squire’s got Vans on’. The black slip-on. That was a big moment. Get a pair of Vans, then.” Liam then sent his mate two pairs of handmade Portuguese tasselled moccasins to thank him for playing the Oasis hit Champagne Supernova at the gig. Liam has teamed up with Adidas to create the LG2 SPZL trainers. He also is a fan of Clarks’ LG Ramblers and its Wallabee and Desert Trek designs.
