Ruth Langsford dismisses 'diva' claims after appearing to 'snap' at colleague

Ruth Langsford has assured fans that she isn't "really a diva" after sharing an apparent parody video of herself this week as part of a trend that's on social media at the moment.

The presenter, 63, took to Instagram on Saturday to share her attempt at the so-called "of course" trend. It often sees people poke fun at stereotypes or perceptions related to their careers or their identity. Each person fills in the two blanks in the following template: "I'm..... of course I..."

Loose Women panellist Ruth took on the trend in a joint post that was shared by her and the shopping channel QVC this week. The caption read: "We couldn't NOT jump on this trend. Have you learnt anything more about [Ruth]?" During the video, it's teased that she's a "diva," with her ringing a bell to be brought champagne at one point, for example.

It began with her posing in an outfit from her QVC clothing range, as she told viewers: "I'm Ruth Langsford ... of course I always model my own designs." She was then seen standing in a kitchen, where she teased over tea preferences.

She said: "I'm Ruth Langsford ... of course, I always have Earl Grey tea in a porcelain teacup." Hinting that it was a skit, someone offered her tea in a mug and said: "Ruth, builder's [tea], two sugars." She responded to them: "Not now!"

The former This Morning host was also shown having her hair and makeup done. She said: "I'm Ruth Langsford ... of course, I have my own personal hair and makeup team." She then teased one of her team: "My toes will need shaving."

And replicating the end of a photo shoot, she was next seen ringing a bell and calling for champagne. After being handed a glass, she commented: "I'm Ruth Langsford ... of course I drink champagne at the end of a photoshoot. Cheers."

After taking a sip, Ruth was seen spitting out the drink and questioning if it was prosecco instead. She said: "Urgh! Is that prosecco? Is that prosecco?" Looking at the camera with her hand out towards it, she then urged: "Turn that off! I've never been so insulted in my life. Turn it off!"
