Prince Edward has shared an update about how King Charles is doing following his cancer diagnosis.

The monarch's younger brother has had an extremely busy week alongside his wife, Duchess Sophie. The couple have taken part in numerous royal engagements across the country.

Prince Edward said: "We were all hugely grateful for the extraordinary support from everyone. I know he has been very touched by it all." With regards to the King's cancer treatment, he said: "He's doing well, we are keeping our fingers crossed that it all goes very well."

Despite his shock diagnosis, King Charles continues to carry out his duties behind the scenes, while he has taken a step back from public-facing royal roles. The monarch met the Ambassador of Algeria, Nourredine Yazid, during a private audience at Buckingham Palace in London, this week.

He also met the Ambassador of Mauritania, Samba Mamadou, who also presented his credentials during the private audience. Prince Edward and Princess Sophie continue to carry out royal engagements.
