Perfume lovers are rushing to snap up an ‘addictive’ fragrance that shoppers say is . Reduced by £50 for a limited time, some Boots shoppers say they’ve even ditched their favourite bottle

Lancome’s is incredibly popular among shoppers, and was the health and beauty retailer’s sixth best-selling fragrance of 2023, which is testament to its stunning scent. But at £92 for 50ml, it doesn’t come cheap.

Instead, customers are opting for the of the popular perfume, which is currently down from £100 to £50 as part of the high street favourite’s Mother’s Day Star Gifts.

The spin-off scent launched in 2023, so is one of the newest additions to the La Vie line up, which also includes the La Vie Est Belle Intensément, L'Extrait and Rose editions.

Created by Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion, the boasts notes of black currant, orange blossom and fig, alongside jasmine, iris, gourmand accord and patchouli.

It’s amassed an impressive - of which only 41 are one star. Customers who love the original and tried the Iris Absolu have been left converted, commenting: “I love this . I really liked the original La Vie Est Belle too but this one is phenomenal. Everyone who I walk past by compliments it. I think I will purchase a full sized bottle once the original runs out.”

Another added: “The scent, dare I say, is First time wearing it, I got many compliments throughout the day. Longevity is 8/10. It dries down to a nice, soft scent that can be worn through the seasons! I definitely recommend this perfume!”

When I worked at Boots, I would always recommend as the perfect gift for girlfriends and mums, and it appears this new scent is popular with workers, too. Another review read: “My husband bought me this from recommendation off Nadya your NO 7 advisor & it's beautiful .. a wonderful fragrance & I love it so thank you Nadya (lowestoft branch) for recommending such a beautiful perfume.”

Others have described the scent as ‘endearing and addicting’ while another said they’d ‘reorder again 100 times’.

But as is to be expected with perfume, it wasn’t to everyone’s liking, with some saying it’s ‘too sweet’ or overly floral. One said: “The bottle and design is beautiful! The smell was very sweet for my preferred scent, but I can see others enjoying my the smell. The smell lasted for a long time!”

Another wrote: “ I’m sure someone would love this fragrance but it’s definitely not for me. There’s something about it that I just don’t like. I think it’s more floral than I tend to wear.”

With Mother’s Day coming up, floods of shoppers will be heading to the high street chain in search of a bottle of perfume for their mum. During my time on the tills, each weekend in March I would see dozens of shoppers asking for recommendations and to smell fragrances from the cabinet - and nine times out of 10, they went for my suggestions.

Another go-to for those shopping for their mum was always and it continues to be a bestseller for the retailer today - four years after I left. Usually £73, a as part of the retailer’s Star Gifts, saving £28 on the RRP.

It has over 1,100 five star reviews from shoppers who say they ‘get so many compliments’ when they wear it. Another wrote: “Bought this for my mum, her favourite fragrance . Delighted it had £10 off too.”

A third said: “My mum is in her 50s and also likes this perfume so it is suitable for people of all ages, not a specific "young" or "old" smell.” While a fourth said it was ‘not as strong as other Marc Jacobs’ but ‘still beautiful’.

A third fragrance reduced ahead of Mother’s Day is the stunning , now £66.50 down from £95, saving £28.50 on the RRP.

Elsewhere, Lookfantastic's fragrance section sees prices reduced on big name brands like Lancôme, Armani and Marc Jacobs. You can get the likes of Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Eau de Parfum for £121.60 down from £160, Armani Si Eau de Parfum Intense Refillable Spray for £72.75 as opposed to its usual price of £97 and Marc Jacobs Perfect Eau de Parfum for £44.50 - that's half price on its normal £89 price tag.

Alternatively, you can snap up the £50 bottle of here - and if you end up keeping it for yourself, we won’t tell.
