A seaside town in Wales has been dubbed the UK's worst, but it also boasts some of the best fish and chips around.

Located on the north coast of Wales, Rhyl is a three-hour drive from London. Rightmove reports the average property price is £171,506 there, over £600,000 less than the London average of £778,872.

It was The Telegraph who deemed it the worst, with identifying it as the most dangerous place in its county of Clwyd with a staggering 206 crimes per 1,000 people last year. But the town wasn’t always hated, and before air travel it was a hugely popular holiday spots for folks from nearby cities such as Liverpool and Manchester.

It’s certainly not for everyone as one visitor wrote: "I’m currently on a caravan holiday in Rhyl and I’m deeply dissatisfied with EVERYTHING here, which is nothing at all! It’s as if time stopped here but not In a quaint way NO, nothing works." However some people have visited and very much fallen in love with the surrounding nature.

But some people have visited and fallen in love with the natural beauty around. A happy holidaymaker wrote: "We have been visiting this site for 10 years now and we are still not bored of it. We love it for long walks. Definitely recommended to others." Whether you love or hate it, Rhyl is home to a famous chip shop that's so good it made The Times' list of the 18 best fish and chip shops in the UK, reports MyLondon.

Les and Rita Pidduck own a lovely little shop that's been around for 55 years, and it feels like you've stepped back into the sixties when you walk in. Their daughter Kay and her team will give you a warm welcome. A customer who really liked their food wrote: "Stayed in Rhyl for a couple of days, this was the best rated chippy in the area. And I couldn't agree more! Everything was cooked from fresh to perfection. Friendly staff, and facilities was clean. Best fish and chips around!" You can visit this chippy at 28 Wellington Road, LL18 1BN.
