Jude Bellingham probe concluded after investigation into Mason Greenwood remark
The investigation into an alleged offensive remark made by Jude Bellingham towards Mason Greenwood during a recent La Liga match has been dismissed.
The England and Real Madrid midfielder was reported to La Liga by Getafe last month after allegedly referring to Greenwood as "a rapist" during a match.
It was later reported that Greenwood wanted the probe dropped. The on-loan Manchester United striker had charges of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023.
The Spanish FA has now outlined that the investigation into the incident has been dismissed as it was not possible to prove such a term was used by Bellingham after expert lip-readers were asked to assess footage from the match.
The 20-year-old was seen on camera saying something to Greenwood after tackling the forward near the touchline in early February, a match that Real Madrid won 2-0.

Greenwood, 22, joined Getafe on loan in the summer after it was determined that he had no future with Manchester United. He has seemingly been offered an olive branch since by new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The Ineos chief outlined that the decision to move Greenwood on would be re-assessed by the club's new regime this summer, saying: "It's quite clear we have to make a decision. There is no decision that's been made. He's on-loan obviously, but he's not the only one. We've got one or two footballers that we have to deal with and we have to make a decision on, so we will do that.

"Could he play sincerely for Manchester United well, would we be comfortable with it and would the fans be comfortable with it?" Greenwood is under contract with Manchester United until the summer of 2025.
