For the first time in EA FC 24 Ultimate Team, a new weekly promo squad will not be released. Instead, EA Sports is turning its attention to SBCs, with the Showdown Series set to return.

EA FC 24 players have been treated to some decent promos in recent weeks, with the Fantasy FC promo following the fan-favourite Future Stars promo in Ultimate Team. The Fantasy FC Team 1 and Team 2 squads featured players that can earn upgrades based on real-life performances, which you can keep up to date with in our Fantasy FC upgrade tracker. Despite no new promo entering UT this week, the live content is set to continue with the EA FC 24 Showdown Series.

Showdown SBCs consist of two players from an upcoming real-life fixture who receive special players item in Ultimate Team, with one player from each featured team released. We've already seen a few Showdown SBCs released so far, but during the EA FC 24 Showdown Series, we're set to see multiple released in quick succession.

EA FC 24 Showdown Series SBC start date

An Ultimate Team loading screen has confirmed when the EA FC 24 Showdown Series will begin, with the start date revealed as Friday, March 8 at 6pm GMT / 1pm EST / 10am PST. The first Showdown Series was in FIFA 23, and the event lasted a week, meaning we expect a new promo, which is tipped to be FC Birthday, to begin on Friday, March 15.
