Parent punched child in bus stop brawl as she shouted at girl to 'beat her a**'

Video footage has captured the shocking moment a parent thew punches at a student during a violent bus stop brawl before shouting "beat her a**."

Taityana D. Duffy, from Florida, was arrested on Friday after she “instigated, jeered and intervened” in a fight between two students and then “battered a juvenile during the incident, according to police. The fight broke out between two students at a bus stop in Haines City on March 1 and footage released by authorities shows the moment a student shoves another as adults are seen rushing to the scene.

According to police the fight "started as a confrontation between two juveniles waiting for the school bus". But, they added: "it quickly escalated into a physical confrontation with the adult family member of one of the participants instigating the fight".

Two children, one in a grey shirt and the other in a red hoodie, hurl punches at each other but are quickly separated by adults and other students. But just moments later, a student in the grey shirt is seen launching on top of another female in a blue shirt and lays multiple punches on her head as she tries to cover her face.

During this point, the video shows 28-year-old Duffy standing over them, holding her phone to record the fight and shout "beat her a**." The student in the red hoodie then jumps back in to pull the juvenile in the grey shirt off the other girl.

This is the moment, Duffy is seen hitting the student in the red hoodie, shouting at him to get the f**k off her” as the students quickly flee the scene and the video ends. Cops responded to the bus stop after receiving reports of a physical altercation and arrived to find “a complex situation with multiple people involved,” police said.

After identifying those involved, Duffy was placed under arrest and faces charges of battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A juvenile suspect was also arrested and charged with battery. “The involvement of an adult in encouraging and participating in a teenage fight at a bus stop is unacceptable and deeply concerning,” Chief of Police Greg Goreck said in a statement.

“This behavior not only escalates violence but also fails our community’s expectation of an adult’s responsibility to help safeguard our children. Our department is taking this matter seriously and will act to prevent such incidents in the future.”

The mum could face up to a year in jail or 12 months in jail if found guilty. A court date has not yet been set for the 28-year-old who is guardian of the child.
