An "aggressive" woman who repeatedly swore at cabin crew after her plane landed half an hour late has admitted being drunk on the aircraft.

Lauren Beaumont-Capps, 40, caused trouble while traveling on a Jet2 flight from Antalya, Turkey, to Manchester in January. Manchester Magistrates' Court heard how cabin crew became concerned about Beaumont-Capps and another "intoxicated" female passenger when the plane landed.

Ms Shazia Aslam, prosecuting, described how both women "started causing commotion" and attempted to get off the aircraft, which was 30 minutes late. They were talking "loudly and inappropriately" and "shouting in an aggressive way", Ms Aslam said.

Beaumont-Capps, who had consumed six alcoholic drinks during the fight, shouted: "Get me off this f****** plane." And when she was told to stop swearing by a female member of cabin crew, she replied: "You can't tell me what to do."

A second cabin crew member, who also tried to intervene, was called: "A f****** c** ." Ms Aslam said the female crew member "felt like she was going to be physically attacked" as Beaumont-Capps continued her four-letter tirade, shouting: "Why don't you f****** f*** off."

Police were alerted and she was escorted from the plane but she continued to use similar language in front of officers and "refused to cooperate with simple instructions". Beaumont-Capps, of Swinton, Greater Manchester, admitted charges of being drunk on an aircraft and using threatening, abusive and insulting words or behaviour.

She will be sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on April 2. The Mirror has contacted Jet2 for comment.
