Helldivers 2 gets a price drop on PS5 at UK retailer Currys
If you've yet to hop on board the hype train – or hype Super Destroyer in this case – for Helldivers 2, this PS5 price drop is the perfect excuse.
Helldivers 2 has been out for a month now, and is already getting a nice little discount across select UK retailers. Marketing itself as a AA game, it lacks the bloated budget of its contemporaries like Warzone or Halo, and all of the fun is derived from player-generated experiences. The formula is a clear hit, so it's entirely unexpected that we're getting a Helldivers 2 PS5 price drop already.
While Helldivers 2 isn't on Xbox right now, you can pick it up for PC and PS5 for £34.99 / $39.99 / AU$59.95 and given the absolute blast I've had playing it so far, this is a steal. If you thought that was a bargain, the Helldivers 2 price drop for the PS5 version across UK retailers like Argos, Currys, Very, and even Amazon UK makes it even more of a must-buy.
The discount isn't huge, admittedly, but this is a brand new and incredibly popular live service game that you can now pick up for less than £30. Most of the major post-launch bugs seem to have been blasted so far, with the 'failed to establish network connection' error being the only one I've run into recently on PlayStation. But even then, there are a handful of workarounds to get you by, and the team over at Arrowhead Game Studios has been firing out fixes for the game as fast as they're being reported.
Most of the teething issues around the title have stemmed from the sheer amount of players trying to drop in, and the studio has already increased the max player cap a few times now, to accommodate the Helldivers itching to gear up and sacrifice themselves for the cause.

The Helldivers 2 PS5 price drop doesn't seem to have come into effect at all UK retailers, and looking at other regions, the that appears to be the case in the US and Australia as well. Whether this is the start of a limited Helldivers 2 PS5 price drop that'll roll out across all retailers and regions, or a short-lived treat solely at the ones flagged above, it's worth acting now; new games rarely get discounted so soon after launch, and the price was already appealing. We don't know how long it'll be on offer for, so if you were already considering joining the Galactic War effort, this might be the incentive you're looking for.
