Fragrance fans can snap up nearly £160 worth of fragrance for half price with a money-savvy deal stacking trick that gets you not one, but two free bottles of perfume. Ideal for Mother’s Day, shoppers will wind up with 80ml of the popular scent - comprising of one full sized bottle and two travel-ready spritzes.

It comes as the health and beauty retailer has slashed the price of dozens of bottles of fragrance ahead of March 10 - and one deal seemed far too tempting for me to miss, so I decided to give it a try.

A 50ml bottle of Armani Si would usually set shoppers back £92, but the high street favourite currently has £15 off selected fragrance, taking the price down to £77. But as someone who used to work for Boots and never pays full-price for anything, I’ve mastered the art of deal-stacking to get the most bang for my buck - and was still surprised when I got more than I bargained for when I hit ‘add to basket’.

As well as the £15 off, when you buy any 50ml or 100ml bottle of the popular scent, you also get a 15ml bottle of Armani Si for free. I considered this to already be a pretty sweet deal, but when I went to check out, I was shocked to see there were two 15ml freebies in my basket.

I went back to the fragrance page to check the deals and saw three of the little red boxes reading ‘save £15 on selected fragrance’, ‘free Giorgio Armani Si Eau de Parfum 15ml when you buy Giorgio Armani Si 50ml or above - whilst stocks last’ and lastly, ‘free gift when you buy selected Armani Si - while stocks last’.

I thought nothing of it and figured it would be an error and I’d receive just one free bottle (which I’d have still been pretty chuffed about) - but when my order, placed on Friday, arrived on Monday afternoon, I was overjoyed that there was in fact, two 15ml perfumes stashed inside along with the 50ml scent.

A 30ml bottle of the Giorgio Armani scent would typically set you back £67 (now £56.95), and because it was divided into two bottles, it meant I could keep one for myself, and gift another later in the year.

By the end of it all, I’d effectively bagged myself £159 worth of fragrance for £77, having ticked off a Mother’s Day gift, restocked one of my favourite scents in a handbag-sized spray, and saving over £30 on another gift I could save for a birthday or Christmas.

Described as a modern chypre scent, the ‘elegant’ perfume combines Blackcurrant Liqueur with Rose de Mai Absolute and Freesia, alongside a base of Patchouli and Oakmoss for a finished result that Armani describes as ‘chic, sultry, intense and soft at the same time’.

It’s received more than 400 five-star reviews from shoppers who adore its ‘sensual’ aroma, with one writing: “I love this perfume - it is strong, sensual and feminine. It lingers and doesn't fade like some perfumes so you still feel 'dressed'. It works all year round too so I like to keep it for the evenings or weekends when I'm not in work. Even the bottle looks good!”

Another even snagged the same free gifts as me, adding: “Bought it as a gift but it was such a good buy and also with the free gifts, I got myself one too. Gorgeous perfume.”

While a third added: “I love Armani perfumes so I had to try this. It's light, beautiful, elegant and timeless. When my mother complimented the scent I surprised her with an atomiser sample and she's in love too. 20 year age gap and this scent works perfectly for both of us.”

However, some have said it doesn’t last quite as long as they’d have liked, adding: “Smells good, but doesn't last all day. I love it, but I wish it would last longer for the price. I would buy it again; however, I would have to layer it with something else that is long lasting.”

But if it doesn’t sound like it’s for you another shopper-loved spritz that’s on offer is the iconic Marc Jacobs Daisy, which we named our Mirror Choice best perfume for mums. The 50ml bottle currently has £28 off, making it £45 instead of £73 for a limited time only.

Meanwhile Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolu currently has £40 off, making it £60, but shoppers who purchase two Lancome products can also receive a free gift. If you add the fragrance and something like the travel sized Lancome Monsieur Big Volumising Mascara for £16.87 to your basket, you can also get the Lancôme Renergie Gift With Purchase. Worth ‘over £97’, it features a travel-sized fragrance, full-sized Bi-Facial cleanser and more.
