CBB star Roxanne Pallett now - 'difficult road', reality TV husband and baby
Roxanne Pallett was embroiled in scandal during her Celebrity Big Brother stint in 2018.
The 41-year-old soap star was best known for her role as Jo Stiles in ITV's Emmerdale, where she enjoyed successful career on-screen with several award nominations before her reputation took a hit. Whilst a housemate in the iconic reality show, she falsely accused fellow soap star, Ryan Thomas, of punching her.
On the night of the alleged altercation, she refused to sleep in the same room and confided in other contestants that she feared physical assault. However, she was quickly caught out as her lies backfired. Cameras had captured the incident as it happened and there was proof Ryan hadn't attacked her as she claimed.
Most of the public turned on the former Emmerdale star, who ended up dramatically quitting the limelight following her CBB exit. Ryan was left traumatised by the experience and was often seen in tears while inside the house - and he was only relieved when he could hear the public chanting "Get Roxanne out!" at the subsequent eviction night.
The entire incident led to over 25,000 Ofcom complaints and she later apologised on air, admitting to making a "terrible mistake." As Celebrity Big Brother returns to ITV tonight, The Mirror takes a look at Roxanne's life now away from the spotlight...

After the Big Brother 'punchgate' scandal, Roxanne moved to the US. There, she met Jason Carrion, a New York firefighter and former star of Married at First Sight. The pair got engaged in 2019 and said their vows two months later in January 2020 at the Lutheran Evangelical Church in New York.
Following their wedding, Roxanne shared a lovely snap from their big day on social media, with the caption: "There's an old saying that difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations. Well, it was worth every broken step that got me here and I thank God every moment that out of everyone in the whole world, I was led to you."
"You are my safest place and my greatest adventure. Thank you for choosing me. On our wedding day we celebrated our commitment to one another. A day I'll truly remember as perfect in every way."
First child and life away from fame
A year after tying the knot, Roxanne announced she was expecting her first child. The ex-soap actress gave birth to a baby boy in 2021, who they named Maverick. While Roxanne was pregnant, Jason reportedly said: "Rox is always on my mind, she motivates me. And now I have Maverick on the way, I feel blessed."
Roxanne, who has relocated across the Atlantic, appears to have stepped away from the spotlight. She and her partner maintain a joint Instagram account (@lovethecarrions), but haven't posted since 2020. Speaking to Closer magazine, Roxanne revealed: "I think taking a step away from showbiz has been the biggest saving grace for me as it's brought better people into my life and given me a healthier perspective on what's important."
