Nick Grimshaw has cast doubt over his big wedding summer wedding - because they both keep forgetting about it!

In January, former Radio 1 DJ Nick announced he planned to get hitched to his fiance Mesh Henry later this year ahead of turning 40 in August - but not before attending the Glastonbury music festival first. Nick previously described how he knew the pair would wed the second he saw him in a pub smoking area back in 2019.

The couple, who have been dating for five years, got engaged in March when Mesh popped the question, though Nick revealed it took the dancer, 27, a month to find the right time. Now the popular former breakfast show host confessed the wedding keeps slipping their minds but did say he sees children in their future.

He told The Mirror: "Honestly? I know what you're going to say but I've not given it any thought whatsoever. I obviously want to get married, we're engaged, and we're always like 'yeah, we should do that' but we never get to planning, it doesn't get past talking about it.

"It's probably not going to be this year. It's one of those things that I really want to do, but I also want someone else to organise it. But I'm a bit of a control freak, and Mesh definitely is. I don't know who we could hand it over to. Half of my brain is like 'yes do it, have a massive party' and the other half of it is 'well it's a waste of time and money'. I just keep thinking about the day after when we wake up just the same - but poorer!

"So I'm thinking maybe we should just go to a registry office and then all go to the pub after," he went on. "It's TBC! He's very much of the same mind. We get a little excited about it, then we just forget about it for six weeks. Someone asked 'aren't you getting married?' and I'm like 'oh s**t yes we are'.

"Someone else said tie it in with my 40th birthday in August but I'm not sure that's fair on Mesh! But then, you do get two for the price of one. I actually think I would rather have kids than get married in a way. One's a bigger commitment. But I would like kids, for sure."

To mark the start of the new Gogglebox series, sponsored by Three, the Celebrity Gogglebox star has revealed a guide to crochet your own phone holder. He says it is perfect for those who want to get crafty while watching the latest episodes. According to a recent study by the mobile network, 69% of us are looking to learn a new hobby this year. With one eye on the TV and another on our phones, nearly half of Brits have used their mobiles to learn a new hobby. For Gen Z, crochet is the new scrolling, with almost half already knowing how to do it.

Crochet is a hit with the show's cast members and viewers alike and teaming up with Three, and Nick said: "I love Gogglebox, I always have an always will. I actually prefer watching it to doing it! I'm so excited it's back on and Three have launched a campaign to encourage us to do something useful with our phones when we're watching the telly.

"So instead of doom scrolling or watching four hours of TikTok, they've launched this pack where you can stick the show on and crochet as you watch. Am I good at it? Well, I'm enjoying getting better at it - let's say that! I'm not going to release a knitting book just yet, even though we did get into it in lockdown. We need to use our phones for good!"
