Whitney Dean's fate on EastEnders has been revealed amid some huge scenes.

Spoilers for the BBC soap have confirmed that Whitney Dean will be hit by a car in shocking scenes airing on BBC One on Monday night, with fans worried whether Shona McGarty's departure from the show will lead to a tragic end for Whitney.

Things have been going well for Whitney, with her and Zack expecting a baby after the harrowing loss of their daughter Peach. The pair are adamant to make the most of their life with their upcoming arrival and put the heartbreaking past behind them, but in a devastating turn of events, Whitney finds herself being hit by a car and her life left in the balance.

Does Whitney die in EastEnders?

Fans have been left worried Whitney could die on EastEnders after the horror car accident.

However, spoilers have confirmed that Whitney will end up being OK. After the accident, she was rushed to hospital alongside Sonia, Zack and Bianca, who are all terrified for her and worried she might lose her life or her baby.

She is conscious in hospital and is waiting for an ultrasound from the doctors, with spoilers confirming that the baby is doing ok, which seemingly also confirms that Whitney will be ok too.

When is Whitney leaving EastEnders?

We know Shona McGarty will be departing her role on EastEnders but we are yet to know exactly when it will happen. Soap fans will be well aware that Bianca (Patsy Palmer) making a return will form a part of Whitney's exit storyline, but how it will happen is currently all a bit of a mystery as viewers wait to see how it all plays out on the soap.

Speaking about her decision to leave, she said: "I have decided to spread my wings and will be leaving EastEnders. I have loved my years in the show. I have been trusted with some incredible storylines and have made amazing friendships which will endure."

She admitted it wasn't an easy decision to leave, adding: "It wasn’t an easy decision because I've made so many friends. I’ve seen people come and go, and meanwhile, Whitney has been one of the longest-standing characters.

"I've had so much fun and done so many storylines, some of which have been sensitive, and I've been honoured to be trusted with such heavy stuff year after year. So I'm going to be sad to say goodbye to my friends and family, but it was the right decision for me as I want to do other things. After 15 years, I’ve had a pretty good run!"

Is Zack leaving EastEnders?

Fans have been left fearful that Zack Hudson might be making an exit from EastEnders amid Whitney's departure.

It seems like Zack will stay in the Square, but nothing has been confirmed about his future on the soap. Speaking about working together, James Farrar - who plays Zack - shared: "It's pretty heartbreaking. I’ve always just jumped into a show, done a drama here, drama there, modelled, so I’d do clients for three days, maybe a month tops. When you’re in something long term like this, ongoing drama, and somebody leaves... You’ve got to kind of heal your heart afterwards. With Shona, she does something that... I’m hers. It’s just such transparency as a performer – and as a person, by the way. She’s the kindest, calmest, most lovely human being going."
