Noel Gallagher has shut down speculation that he and his brother Liam Gallagher may be reuniting with their Oasis bandmates.

The chart-mauling group disbanded in 2009 when Noel sensationally announced he was leaving the group just hours after it was revealed they wouldn't be playing a headline show at the Rock En Seine festival in Paris.

Liam and the remaining members of Oasis went on to continue under the name Beady Eye and released two albums before later disbanding in 2014.

However, both brothers have since been at loggerheads and have not been in contact with one another and often hurl insults via the media.

But now, Noel, 55, has sensationally broken his silence about a possible reunion during a chat on Radio X's Evening Show with Dan O'Connell.

When San asked whether the reunion would be happening as "99% of people on Twitter," are sure of it, Noel said: "Look it's the done thing now isn't it, is to kind of everybody's getting back together, and Blur are playing Wembley stadium, everyone's getting back together.

"I will say, and I've said it a thousand times if Oasis hadn't had reached their potential, and there was something left to do, it would be different."

The dad-of-three continued: "But I just don’t see what the point would be. It would be, make a load of money, I've got a load of money.

"Do some monumental... I've already done them. It's just not something that appeals to me, now that’s not saying in 10 years time it won't appeal to me…"

Elsewhere, the Longsight-born legend spoke about the potential of Noel selling the Oasis back catalogue, explaining: " It's a tempting amount of money.

"I guess when the moment arrives, there will be a decision to make, but I'm not there yet," before going on to claim that a potential sale may "demotivate" him.

The news comes just days after Noel announced that he and his wife Sara MacDonald had decided to divorce after just 11 years.

Noel and Sara started dating in 2000 after meeting during a night out in Ibiza before going on to wed just over a decade later.

Sharing the news, a spokesperson for the couple told The Mirror: "A spokesperson on behalf of Noel Gallagher and Sara Macdonald has confirmed that the couple are to divorce.

"Noel and Sara will continue to look after their children who remain the priority. They ask the media to respect their privacy and that of our family at this time."
