Katie Price has shared a worrying message about her mum after she was rushed to hospital.

The former glamour model took to social media to share an update on Amy, who has been diagnosed with terminal lung disease. Last week Amy, 71, was taken into hospital after discovering a burst cyst. Taking to her Instagram on Monday, Katie re-shared a message from Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis.

It read: "We're all wishing Amy Price a speedy recovery and sending all our love to her and her family in this difficult time @katieprice @sophie_pricey. Amy has been an amazing advocate over the years. You can read more about her life in her book The Last Word. Hope you get better soon Amy! Lots of love from the APF community."

Amy was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a terminal lung disease, with a life expectancy of three to five years in 2017. She has since had a lung transplant but has explained her health has still been "up and down". Speaking on podcast, TheKatie PriceShow last week, Katie said: "Mum ended up at the hospital because she had a burst cyst from an ultrasound."

Sister Sophie added: "I had to take mum to A&E. The hospital were really good actually, we went to Medway hospital. Took mum up to A&E because she had a burst cyst, I think it was, but she is all fine. She had an ultra-sound the other week and they burst it basically by accident. So we spent about six hours at A&E."

Katie has opened up in that past about being scared to lose her mum. She said: "My mum is my absolute rock, my absolute best friend. To be told she’s got an incurable breathing disease breaks my heart. Sadly, she hasn’t got long left to live." Amy has previously shared how she felt she was in her "final year" in 2022.

"I could hardly breathe, walking was difficult, I was on oxygen more or less 24 hours [a day]. When I was offered a transplant I just jumped at it," she told The Sun. Amy suffered a medical ordeal and last summer she revealed to her famous daughter that she even momentarily died when she was on the operating table.

"Apparently I was shouting out, 'I can't breathe, I can't breathe, they're killing me'," she recalled on Katie's podcast. “That's because I was filling up with blood but what I can remember was dreaming, thinking, 'I've got to survive till five o'clock. They're trying to kill me. I'm hot, I'm sweaty, I can't breathe."

Amy claimed that she was thinking medical staff wanted to kill her during the surgery and was hoping she would get to 5pm when they finished their shift. "I thought, 'You know, if I go … Sophie's alright, Kate will sort herself out, Dan's alright… it's okay to go'," she recalled before adding: "I felt everything was falling in place and I could just go."
