Paul Tierney slammed by duo as Virgil van Dijk bemused after Liverpool win
The dust is still settling on Liverpool's controversial late win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Darwin Nunez scored deep into stoppage time in front of the travelling fans to take the Reds four points clear at the top, at least temporarily. Referee Paul Tierney has copped major criticism for the giving the ball back to Liverpool after halting the game when Nottingham Forest had possession.
It resulted in an angry reaction from Forest's players, their coaches and owner. Liverpool though continue to stride on despite having a plethora of injuries as Jurgen Klopp continues to eye a dream farewell by winning the Premier League title.

The hosts felt Liverpool shouldn't have even had the ball in the first place. Callum Hudson-Odoi had the ball on the attacking left-flank as Reds defender Ibrahima Konate went down clutching his head after a clash with his own goalkeeper. Shearer made his feelings on the matter crystal clear as he claimed: "He’s dropped a big clanger, Paul Tierney.
"He's got it totally wrong, it’s a corner to forest late on and Konate gets a head injury. He gets knocked down by his goalkeeper, Kelleher. Paul Tierney doesn't blow [straight away], Hudson-Odoi has the ball and then the referee blows because it's a head injury. What he does is he then gives the ball unchallenged to the goalkeeper, which is totally wrong."

Virgil van Dijk was left stunned during the scenes that saw Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis confront referee Tierney following Liverpool's dramatic win at the City Ground.
As the chaos began the Liverpool captain appeared to cut a stunned figure as he observed the scale of Forest's frustration. A clip captured by Sky Sports seemed to show the Dutchman question the complaints of the Forest players and coaches.
Van Dijk then tried to cool down the situation as Forest coach Steven Reid was sent off and substitute Felipe was yellow carded by Tierney, who was surrounded by players and staff. Meanwhile, Klopp was delighted as he celebrated in front of the travelling Liverpool supporters.

Caoimhin Kelleher claims he and the Reds backline know if they can keep a clean sheet that they can rely on the forward stars to get the job done. The Liverpool goalkeeper did his bit in Nottingham before Nunez came up with a 98th minute winner.
The Irishman said: “Obviously [there is] a great mentality within the whole squad, even the youngsters, and we just have that fight and never-give-up attitude and we showed it again, which was pleasing. I know the quality we have going forward so I always have that belief that we will score a goal. So, right up until the very end I had that belief that we were going to get something.
“It’s always the motivation with myself and the back line, to keep that clean sheet, and then we know that if we keep that we’ve got a great chance of winning with the quality we have up top. So, I’m happy to get another one and hopefully we can keep going with that momentum and get some more.”
