Who Wants to be a Millionaire was thrown into chaos after one contestant hoped his wife could help him bag £16,000.

The show, hosted by Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson, has had its fair share of gobsmacking moments. Throughout the years, viewers have witnessed gutted contestants lose staggering amounts of money, while others have successfully won the life-changing jackpot.

But player JP Morgan was left looking rather perplexed when he used his 'Phone a Friend' lifeline and another man answered the phone. The science teacher, from Lincoln, was baffled by the £16,000 question: "Which of these days is part of the weekend in Germany?"

The options were A) Donnerstag, B) Mittwoch, C) Sonntag, or D) Dienstag. Back in 2020, when he made his appearance on the show, Morgan said: "My wife's auntie has lived in Germany for over 50 years, my wife's been there a few times. My wife, who at different times would probably have been in the audience, is at home as one of my Phone a Friends."

"Call we call Elizabeth?" said Jeremy. As a male voice answered the call, Jeremy pointed out: "That was another man just answered your phone, relax, relax, it could be completely innocent." When Elizabeth answered, Jeremy asked: "Can I just confirm that you've got someone there with you?"

One viewer wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "Break time question: who was the man that answered the phone when JP phoned his wife? #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire ". Another added: "Well that's one way to expose your wife's a cheat.. ringing her phone for a question on who wants to be a millionaire and a bloke answering #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire ". "How awkward, phoning his wife for the phone a friend and a man answering , has an affair been exposed," wrote a third.

But another viewer pointed out: "The man answering was literally an automated voice saying 'sorry there is no service'. Jeremy was JOKING about an affair". At a closer inspection, the man can be identified as saying: "I am sorry there is no service." JP eventually took the money and left the show with £64,000.
