Calvin Harris' love life from Rita Ora public breakup to intimate proposal
Calvin Harris enjoyed a string of high-profile relationships with superstar musicians, models and a reality TV star before secretly getting engaged to a woman no one even knew he was dating.
DJ, producer and songwriter Calvin Harris is nominated in three categories at this year’s BRIT Awards - Pop Act, Dance Act and Song of the Year, for Miracle. He released the hit single with Ellie Goulding and the pair will be taking to the stage together for the first time at the annual ceremony. "Can’t wait for a VERY SPECIAL performance with Ellie!" Calvin said when the news was announced.
It’s not the first time the two have collaborated: In 2012 they released I Need Your Love and two years later in 2014, Outside hit the charts. The pair were also rumoured to have had a little fling along the way but managed to remain the best of friends and continue working together.
Calvin recently married BBC Radio 1 DJ Vick Hope but things haven't always been smooth sailing for Calvin. Here, we take a look back at his A-list love life...
Ellie Goulding
Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding set tongues wagging back in 2013 when they shared a kiss in the music video for their song I Need Your Love. Sources claimed the pair dated for a few weeks, but Ellie insisted they were always just friends.

We make each other laugh. We text each other stupid stuff and we really get on and are similar," Ellie told Metro.
Shortly after the rumours began, Calvin started dating Ellie's pal Rita Ora.
Rita Ora
Rita Ora and Calvin Harris seemed to be perfect for one another, before she was left devastated when he publicly broke up with her.
The pair started dating in 2013 and things seemed to be going great, until Calvin ended their relationship a year later over Twitter.
"To address speculation – myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best," he wrote.
It later emerged this was the first Rita had heard of their split. "It was more of a thing where I was in awe. I was at that point in my relationship where I felt he could do no wrong. I thought he had my back and that he'd never steer me wrong.
"But then I Will Never Let You Down came out, and everything started to go a bit weird. I don't know if it was because business was mixed with personal or what," she told Marie Claire magazine shortly after the split.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris started dating in 2015 after "really connecting" at that year's BRIT Awards. They made it Instagram official two months after the awards show when Calvin was introduced to Taylor’s cats Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey.
A year later Calvin gushed about his "beautiful girlfriend" as he accepted a Grammy Award. However, their relationship only lasted for 15 months before they decided to call it quits.
At the time, Calvin tweeted: "The only truth is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect."

Calvin reportedly moved on from Taylor in 2016 when he started messaging Ex On The Beach star Megan Rees. It's thought he slid into her DMs on Twitter, but the pair are only thought to have had a very brief fling.
A source told The Sun at the time: "Calvin saw how quickly Taylor moved on, so he has no guilt about keeping his options open. Having some beautiful women brightening up his timeline and a little flirt is just what he needs right now."
Tinashe
Also in 2016, Calvin is rumoured to have had a fling with Superlove singer Tinashe. The pair were said to be "casually" dating after originally meeting in the recording studio in 2014 when they collaborated on the track Dollar Signs.
Calvin and Tinashe are said to have gone on a few dates, but kept their relationship on the down low. They never went public with their romance and it seems things naturally fizzled out.
Aarika Wolf
Aarika Wolf and Calvin Harris had an on-off relationship, which at one point seemed like it was the real deal. They first crossed paths in 2014 when Aarika starred in Calvin’s music video for chart-topping single Blame.
They dated for a short while in 2015, before calling time on their romance. However, they reunited in 2021. Things turned serious and the couple were living together in California and even sharing a cat called Gregg and a golden retriever named Boris.
However, they later announced their "amicable" split due to conflicting schedules. It was reported Calvin wanted to spend less time in the US, where Aarika is based, and focus on the 138-acre he had bought in Ibiza.
Vick Hope
Vick Hope and Calvin Harris have been all loved-up since January 2022 and became engaged just five months after getting together when he proposed to the Radio 1 DJ at his farm in Ibiza.
They first met in 2007 when Calvin, who was an up-and-coming DJ, asked 19-year-old Vick for a date. She turned him down because she didn’t fancy him. After Calvin had somewhat of a physical revamp from hitting the gym and restyling, in 2018 she revealed her regret to Roman Kemp on Capital’s Breakfast show: "Oh my god. I can't believe... he looked how he used to look, I was shallow," she confessed.
"I was 19, and I said no and I went off with either Scouting for Girls, or The Wombats. I don't know which. I thought they were going to be bigger but no, it turns out Calvin Harris was going to turn into an Adonis."
After they started dating, the couple went to pains to keep their romance under wraps but Vick occasionally spoke in public about how happy she was. They married in September 2023 at an outdoor Glastonbury-themed wedding in Northumberland with a star-studded guest list including Vernon Kay and Roman Kemp. Nile Rogers and Chic flew in from the US to perform at the reception which was said to go on until the early hours.
