Cold Feet debuted more than 30 years ago and furthered the careers of its leading cast, who have continued to work within the entertainment industry since then.

The comedy-drama show launched on ITV back in 1998 and initially ran for five series, concluding in 2003. It then returned for a revival in 2016, with an additional four series broadcast between then and the latest episode in 2020.

The show initially followed three couples and their respective families, though additional partners were introduced following the breakdown of some relationships in subsequent seasons. The supporting cast has included notable names over the nine series such as Siobhan Finneran, who is known for roles on shows like Benidorm and Happy Valley. Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones has also been on Cold Feet.

Given that even the revival hasn't been on air for years, we've taken a look at what the main cast from the original series have been up to since the show debuted 35 years ago. It includes volunteering, various acting roles and more.

James Nesbitt

The actor was once married to Sonia Forbes-Adam, 59, with whom he has two children. The former couple got married in 1994 but are said to have divorced in 2016. James has more recently been romantically linked to Katy Gleadhill, 41.

Last year, James featured in the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle, which was in celebration of King Charles' Coronation. He had been invited to read a poem ahead of singer Paloma Faith taking to the stage for a performance.

He stood in "awkward silence" after being introduced whilst seemingly waiting for his cue. The BBC show ended up cutting away moments later and he was heard saying "bear with" when the camera returned to him. James soon recited the poem but the blunder didn't go unnoticed.

Helen Baxendale

Helen Baxendale, now 53, played Rachel Bradley on the show, with the character killed off during the original run. She has since appeared in shows like Cuckoo, Noughts + Crosses as well as Agatha and the Midnight Murders.

She's been in a relationship with film director David L. Williams for a number of years. The couple have three children together including Nell Williams, 25. She's followed in her mother's footsteps by becoming an actor, having appeared in shows like Game of Thrones and Grantchester. Nell's film credits include Blinded by the Light (2019).

Helen notably played Emily Waltham in the sitcom Friends from 1998 to 1999. The character was briefly married to Ross Geller (played by David Schwimmer). Friends of the much-loved character have often described Emily as their 'most hated character' after seeing her mess Ross around and ultimately break her heart. The show wasn't exactly plain-sailing for Helen in real life either. She has since said that working on the NBC show made her realise that she didn't want the same level of fame as its leading cast

And discussing her career, she told the Independent in 2022: "It's such an exposing thing being an actor. In no other job do people give their opinions about what you've done when you’re just walking down the street. I now think that I can be good and I can be bad. But I'll take it, whatever. I don’t really care any more."

John Thomson

John Thomson, now 54, played Pete Gifford on Cold Feet. He went on to appear as Jesse Chadwick on Coronation Street from 2008 to 2010. His other credits include Death in Paradise and Waterloo Road. Alongside his acting career, John narrates shows like Police Interceptors.

He was previously married to Samantha Sharp from 2005 until their reported divorce in 2015. The former couple have two children together and it was stated upon the news of their separation that they would co-parent their kids.

The actor appeared on the second series of the Masked Singer, which aired in 2021, as the character Bush Baby. He said about the experience: "I got halfway which was perfect for me as I wasn't in it to win it. I did it for fun and I was very grateful to be able to work during the pandemic."

Fay Ripley

Fay Ripley, now 57, played Jenny Gifford in the ITV series. Her other credits include Hustle, Reggie Perrin and Finders Keepers. She's also authored three cookbooks in her career, with the most recent, Fay Makes it Easy, released in 2014.

She has been married to fellow actor Daniel Lapaine, 52, since 2001 and the couple have two children together. Their daughter Parker Lapaine, 21, is set to follow in her parents' footsteps, having signed with talent agency Curtis Brown.

Sharing concern, Fay told the Mirror last month: "To be honest, I'm still fearful for [her]. That's just me, as a woman, having come through this industry. I think there's quite a lot of pretending and it's not as good as the poster says."

"There are a lot of hurdles and there's a lot to be warned about. I'll always be there to cushion the blow. And I know there are many blows to come because it is the nature of what we do. Having said that, the highs are pretty high. So it's also fun to watch her enjoying the good stuff," she added.

Fay teased on the White Wine Question Time podcast last year that being a parent now that her children are older is "difficult" and said that she's "grateful" to have spent time with her kids during the Covid pandemic. The actor added that she was also volunteering for the NHS at that time.

She said: "I didn't have to worry about where they were [and I could look after them] I was delighted with that result. Obviously, I was aware there's a terrible, fearful pandemic going on. I was really worried. By the way, I was volunteering at the vaccine centre for a year so I was partaking in the whole event but as a sidebar I was so grateful for that little bit of time that I captured with my kids. I don't think it was great for them. They would tell a different story."

Hermione Norris

He's been married to artist Victoria Threlfall since 1985 and the couple have four children together. Their daughter Oriel is said to have ventured into the TV and film industry herself, like Robert, but in production rather than acting.

The actor - who appeared in the music video for Westlife's Uptown Girl in 2001 - has appeared in theatre productions, just like some of his former co-stars. He most recently starred as the title character in Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell.
