The Chase's Jenny Ryan was left praising Joel Dommett

Joel Dommett had The Chase's Jenny Ryan praising his "bravery" after he made history on the show.

The Masked Singer host and comedian appeared on Beat the Chasers for a celebrity edition of the show. Despite airing in 2022, the episode made a return to screens on Friday night as Joel tried to win money for charity Brain Tumour Support. Before taking on the chasers, Joel reflected on appearing on the show before.

He had actually made two previous appearances on the ITV quiz show but sadly lost both times. The Chase star Jenny cut in and told the I'm A Celebrity star that he shouldn't be so hard on himself. "You're selling yourself short," The Vixen told him. "You got back into the head-to-head against me. You played the final by yourself for a record amount of money."

She added: "You showed a lot of bravery on that day." Jenny was refering to the time where Joel had the chance to take home a huge £150,000 on The Chase: Celebrity Special in 2020. He was playing for his chosen charity at the time, but sadly missed out. Mark Labbett decided to send Joel on a trip down memory lane in his latest appearance.

The Beast offered him a staggering £150,000 once again if all the chasers could have 42 seconds on the clock. Joel was cheered on by the audience to take the offer. Despite wanting "redemption" for his previous try, Joel decided to play for a safer £30,000 against four chasers.

Joel got off to a good start but sadly ran out of time. He didn't leave empty handed though as he walked away with £1000 for his charity. Jenny has announced she is set to "break away" from her role on the quiz show thanks to her latest project announcement. She has appeared on The Chase since 2015 but will tour the UK later this year with her cabaret show Out of the Box.

The upcoming tour will run from September to November. Taking to her social media, Jenny said: "BIG NEWS! After smashing the Ediburgh Fringe, Out of the Box is off on a UK tour this autumn. Come along for an evening of cabaret charting the long dizzying road into telly stardom." The post further teased about it: "There'll be tunes, tales, trivia and a sprinkling of showbiz secrets."

Jenny has made no secret of her passion for music, having even competed on the X Factor: Celebrity in 2019. She performed Queen's Somebody to Love at her audition for the ITV contest and ended up appearing in the live shows. It has been teased that audiences will get to hear Jenny's "powerful voice" that "blew the judges away" on the show during the upcoming cabaret tour.
