Gogglebox viewers delighted as family make unexpected comeback to show
Gogglebox fans were delighted to see the return of a fan favourite family on Friday night.
The Channel 4 show made its comeback to screens for a brand new series two weeks ago. However, one long-serving family on the show were missing. Fans had noticed their absence and feared they were not going to appear on the latest series. On Friday, the Malone family made their comeback to the delight of fans.
They have been on the series since 2014 and are led by couple Tom Malone Snr. and Julie Malone. The couple are often joined by their son Shaun Malone, though his siblings Tom Malone Jr. and Vanessa Malone have previously appeared. Viewers had expressed their concern over their absence as taking to X - formerly Twitter - one asked: "Anyone know what's happened to the Malones? Never the same without them."
Another echoed: "Where's the Malones? They weren't on last week's episode either." The Malone family were back as they kicked off Friday's show by getting up to their usual antics. Following a segment on enegry bills, Tom Snr jumped out of his seat and quipped: "Downstairs hall light on Julie?" His wife replied: "Yeah, that's because the dogs don't like the dark." He added: "The kitchen, the kitchen light is on out here. Oh and the upstairs Julie."

Tom continued: "Upstairs... look at it, it is like Blackpool illuminations." Julie fumed: "You sound like my dad, shut up." Viewers shared their excitement over the couple's return as one said: "#Gogglebox time and good to see @TheMalonesGB back for the first time this series. Another added: "@TheMalonesGB are back. #Gogglebox.

Someone else commented: "'You sound like my dad' Haha Julie. #Gogglebox." A fourth wrote: "Are you even a grown-up if you don’t say “it’s like Blackpool illuminations” when all the lights are left on? #Gogglebox." It appeared the family missed the start of the new Gogglebox series as they were on holiday.
Gogglebox fan favourites the Malone family made their comeback to the showTom Snr. and Julie had enjoyed a trip to Florida and shared snaps on their social media. Tom Jr. shared photos from the trip on Instagram, including one of him and his mum Julie at Disney World together. Julie also shared a photo of herself and her husband Tom Sr. together alongside the Disney character Goofy.
Tom Jr. wrote: "Malone family holiday 2024. A family holiday was LONG overdue ... especially with the additions of my nieces and nephews (even if I did bring some Mancunian rain with me)." Tom Jr. announced his departure from Gogglebox in 2021, saying he was looking to pursue other opportunities. He said at the time: "I've loved every minute and I'm eternally grateful to [Channel 4 and production company Studio Lambert for allowing me to be a part of the show. But new opportunities are knocking on the door and it's time to explore them."
