Football host Kate Abdo appeared to confirm her relationship with Malik Scott on Instagram after posting a picture of the two together for the first time.

The 42-year-old shared a sweet photo of herself with Scott, Deontay Wilder 's trainer, which with the image featuring Abdo sitting on his lap. Scott is seen kissing Kate on the cheek, with Abdo adding a red heart emoji to the reposted image.

Malik Scott, 43, is a former heavyweight boxer with a record of 38-3-1 who has trained prominent ex-heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. Abdo's CBS co-hosts Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards have suggested the duo is together during previous bits of banter on the Champions League analysis show.

Abdo is believed to have begun dating Scott last summer following her separation from her husband Ratmin Abdo, who she had married in 2010.

Scott had a successful boxing career himself before becoming Wilder's full-time trainer in 2021, having a 38-3 record as a heavyweight - even fighting Wilder in 2014 as he lost after a first-round knockout. Scott had also suffered losses to Luis Ortiz and Dereck Chisora before retiring in 2017.

The Philadelphia-born trainer has worked with Wilder for every one of his fights since 2021, including his final fight with Tyson Fury and knockout win over Robert Helenius.

Abdo had posted an image of Scott in December ahead of Wilder's December fight with Joseph Parker, with the caption: "The man I love to see win is about to get another W on the biggest night in boxing." Wilder would go on to suffer a surprise defeat on the night, losing by unanimous decision to Parker on the co-main event of Anthony Joshua's win over Otto Wallin.

"He caught me in a dazing moment," Wilder said afterward. "I f***ing zoned out for one minute, I don’t know what the f*** happened. The punch came but it wasn’t nothing that hurt, none of his punches fazed me at all.”

Abdo is the key orchestrator of CBS' Champions League panel, helping maintain some semblance of order with her joke-making co-hosts. Their show has won many awards and helped grow football in the United States, where a rapidly expanding audience enjoys their humour.
